Im a week out and have been doing pretty well.  I was thinking about trying some refried beans (fat free, right?) But some of the other beans that were suggested - so I cook them and then blend them? Or blend them and cook them? Do I need to blend them?

So many questions everyday!!!

Thank you!

I rarely cook so for refried beans it was Taco Bell all the way.  But canned ones from the store work too.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Cook them and then blend them.  Put your leftovers in an ice cube tray and freeze them.  Once they are frozen pop them out and put them in a freezer baggie and label it.  One "cube" is really close to one ounce.

I used Old Elpaso Refried with a litle cheddar cheese... You get so little it lasts forever... If you blend other beans I reccomend youcook them first... otherwise.. thed be to crunchy if you used the dry ones..lol...Navy, Great Northern, Pinto..

I aslo ate a lot of string cheese and drank milk.. never could handle the shakes... just taken more milk going down to get the protien #'s you need.. Best of luck just do your best.. use your head  dont worry to much.. just dont get dehydrated...Makes you feel crapy

Jamie,
I cook my beans in a nonstick skillet and add a lil fat free cheddar cheese and seasonings. Then I measure out my one ounce and save the rest. I have found it makes me feel so good when I am getting something a little bit different such as the beans. I was having trouble with the protein shakes so I tried to boost my protein any way I could. Good luck and God bless....

Refried beans were my favorite as a newbie.  I loved to add a bit of cheese to them and they were yummy.  It helps to get some good protein in too. Jeannie's idea was really cool.  Wish I had known that.  I will sure share it with my newbies in group.

Huge hugs,  enjoy your beans!

I also love Old El Paso Fat Free Refried Beans.  This was another thing I never touched before WLS.  Now I love them.  WLS is awesome.  Change is possible for all of us.
