Hey all,... how are you doing this morning? Good, I hope. I woke up on my own about an hour ago at 5:30am. Me and Cookie went for a good long walk. That felt good. Lately, I've been waking so late, I just have time to let her do her business.

I was looking at the mall yesterday for Sketchers Shape-ups. They are supposed to help you have better posture and burn more calories. I found them at Penny's, but they were $100!!! That's too much for shoes, for me. I'm hemming and hawing now, wondering if they really work.

My new tat is in the itchy stage. That's a good sign that it's healing up well. I think Tink looks really good!!

Good morning all!

Yesterday for dinner, I experimented some and it was delicious.
In one pot, I put a head of cabbage (cut up),  3 onions, some diced tomatoes we had in the fridge, water, salt & Pepper. I cooked this until the cabage was soft.
In another pot, I put one back of meatballs (in the freezer section), a can of diced tomatoes, Tomato sauce, Italian seasons, and 1/2 jar of salsa I had in the fridge. I later added some grated parmasan to it.

When the cabbage was soft, I drained it and then added the meatballs to it. Yummo! It was almost like spaghetti only subbing the pasta with cabbage. It was SOOOO good. I ate more of that than I have ate in the past month!

And I paid for it last night. I found out that my re-arranged tummy does not appreciate cooked cabbage at all right now.  So..I gotta leave the left-overs to Bill. That is so disappointing but I think it'll be awhile before I forget how miserable I was all night long.

Linda.I really like Sketcher shoes. I usually can find them at Meijer's (~$60). I'll have to look for me a pair of the Shape Ups. I love the way they fit..and that is really saying alot since I had bunion surgery a few years ago. It's hard for me to find something that doesn't hurt. I hope you can find them for less than $100. I think you'd be happy with them. If they are like their dress sketchers, they will also last you forever.

You all have a good day today!

Good morning! I woke up with my dogs this morning about 5:30.  I feel like I can actually join in on the dailey posts now as i've the surgery.

I used my new blender today for the first time. It really blended my protein shake well. For that im thankful. The last few shakes I've had have been grainey and I was dreading having to force myself to have those all the time....

Im having a pain in my side thats fairly new. I didn't wear my binder for most of yesterday, so im fairly certain its from that.  All the incisions are healing nicely, so I won't look too bad pretty soon.  My first follow up visit is Thursday. Should I expect to have lost weight? Or will my body still be holding on to water weight? I have a scale, but im not sure its accurate, and im a little afraid to step on it regardless- I just dont know if I want to know. LOL.

Anyways, I am so thankful for this website, it has been such a blessing for me. I have more information and understading here and don't know how to thank you enough.

Have a great day!!!

Jamie,

When you use a blender to mix your shakes..especially as new post-op as you are...be sure to allow the mixture to settle for a half hour or so after you mix it so that some of the air can work it's way our of the drink. It's better for the air to be released before you drink it rather than in your pouch.

It's not unusual for the incisions to ache for a few weeks post-op. I think most people do have problems with the one on their left side under their ribs. That is where the largest of the medical equipment was inserted at. Just take it slow & easy and wear your binder.

congrats and good luck...

Good morning all!!  I had a great weekend with the family. It was nice and relaxing and actually seemed like a 3 day weekend this time. They usually go by so fast.
Linda, I think its cute that you have a Tinker Tat! Also, I bought a pair of Sketchers (they just say Sketchers on them) at that discount shoe store by Walmart on 46. They have brand names for half price. I think mine were around $40-$50. I bought 4 pairs of shoes between my daughter and me and paid less than $200. All brand names.
Sherri, dang-it, ya made me hungry!! I love cabbage and I make a dish called "Stuff" that has cabbage, potatoes, carrots, ham and you top it with cheese and cream of mushroom soup and bake it all in a crock pot. I will have to try that with low-fat ingredients. It bakes up all creamy and cheesy and is great as a warm dish on a cold day.
I hope everyone has a great day, its going to stay dry today. I will be getting out in my garden and picking some veggies today. I'm so glad things are finally coming up. Can't wait to be able to pick cucumbers. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hi,

Do you have a recipe for your dish called "Stuff" that you could share?

Thanks.

I really don't have a recipe because I often don't use them, I just throw this and that together. I would say put a little oil in the bottom of your crockpot and layer some cabbage, then carrots and onions if you want (any veggie will do), ham chunks and cheese (low fat). Then do another layer of cabbage, carrots, onions, ham and cheese. Top it all off with 2 small or one large can of cream of mushroom soup (FF of course). I would cook it on med heat for probably 6 hours.
It is delicious!!
Good Luck.

HI all!!! Hope your weekend was great!
Congrats on your tat Linda...I am too chicken to do it. Sheri your food sounded great...I love cabbage so maybe in a year or maybe not! Jamie, I still am a little sore and it has been a month but getting better. I did not know I was supposed to leave the shake to settle either. That could explain why I had so much gas the past two days and my tummy hurt so bad. Wow...live and learn. I am thankful for this group so that those of you who have walked this journey longer can educate us newbies!!!

Have a great Monday.

Kristie
