update C.F.D.C.
I had decided to try a little sip of the caf.free d.c. I had picked today for my sip. I am off on Friday. I looked forward to this all week. I got my small bottle of coke out, poured it over ice and let it sit for an hour. My plan was to defiz it with it sitting out. I took one little sip and thought it tasted awful. Hooray! I like good ol water the ******* more huddle overcome!!!!! Wendy
Isn't it funny how something you used to love so much tastes gross now! I think God helps us out with those litte things.

I had the same experience. My DH asked me to hold his diet coke for him while he went to the restroom. I was about 3 months out and had not had my dear diet coke since before surgery. I couldn't resist the temptation. It tasted like paint thinner. Cured! No more temptation.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
I've experimented a few times over the past 5 years but I just don't do carbonated drinks anymore. I was a big diet Pepsi fan pre-op. I liked the caffiene-free version even more. Post-op, it tasted bad...and made my pouch feel even worse than the taste. I have some sf-diet root beer bottles that have been in the fridge since we went to Holiday World LAST YEAR. I've drank ONE of them in all that time. I had bought two 4 packs so yep, I'm good for awhile. lol!
Remember, just because it may be on some yellow sheet that we CAN have something at a certain time, it does not mean that EVERYONE can..or that everyone should! It took me almost 2 years before I could enjoy a slice of bread. After all the work on my intestines though, I'm back at not being ABLE to eat it again. The same thing goes for how many ounces you eat. Just because it says that at X months you can go up to Y ounces, it doesn't mean that everyone SHOULD or CAN. After my recent stay in the hospital, I am barely getting in 4 ounces for most meals...which is why I am making sure I get in my protein drinks.
Do what we didn't do pre-op (or we wouldn't have been obese)...listen to your body.
