Is there anyone who you like best in the list of dietitions? I met with one yesterday who did not listen to my problems with protein and seemed really put off when i asked questions. Please advise me on who you consider is the best!

I can only go with my personal experience.  I've only seen two of the dieticians.  I really like Marilyn Jeter.  However, she also taught my pre op class, so that probably colors my perception.  I do get along well with her.

Not sure who you saw, but I have had that same problem. I started seeing someone new (though her name escapes me) and I really like her. She actually listens to what I say. Let me see if I can remember her name! ;o)  You might just call and ask to talk to someone (different than you saw) and see how the conversation goes. Then you can make an appt if you think you like her.

That is just not right. You need someone who will listen. Following the wls path was one of the moat important decisions you could make. I have a girl named Cindy. I like her. She is quick to Email me back when I have questions. Demand better. You deserve it! Wendy

Thank you all. I too had Marilyn and really liked her for my preop class. I am hoping to either get into her or Cathy.  Have a great day and many happy blessings!

I was just there on Monday for my 1 yr follow up appointment and talked with Cindy.  She listened, gave good suggestions and I liked her.

I saw Melinda today at my 3 month check and she was very encouraging and supportive.  I've been disappointed with my slow weight loss and she told me I was doing great work.  At 6 week check up I saw Jessica and she gave me some good ideas.

Hope that helps.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I am anxious about my next visit in two months. What do you all take to the meetings with you? food journals??

Take care and have a great fourth!

I experienced the same with St. Vincent's dieticians.  I was rushed through my visit.  I felt as if she was much too busy for me.  She quickly answered some of my questions and then stood up to leave.  I know their case load may be phenominal but this was ridiculous.

I thought ...what a waste of time for me.  I got nothing out of the visit, other than being weighed and a few notes that she took...then visit over.  I was shocked.

I do not expect them to spend an hour with me but I bet she spent about 10-15 minutes with me.  Next time I am prepared and will voice my concerns.  I think I was so shocked the first time, I thought what just happened.

Maybe I will get someone different next time, my visit went so fast I did not even get her name.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Kristie - its totally not cool that the dietition didn't listen....but maybe she was just having a bad day.  Not that its an excuse AT ALL, and im not saying you should go see her again if you aren't comfortable, but its something to think about....
