Sunday
Nothing planned for today. I really miss going to church but cannot leave Lyn so I have just been able to go once in the last few months. The minister does stop by occasionally though so that is nice. Lyn is doing about the same. He does make noises, grunting sounds when talked to a lot now, like he is trying to communicate. He also cries occasionally which just breaks my heart since I have no idea why he is crying, pain?, emotions?, wish I knew. No movement still except for eye movement and facial movements. He is still getting frequent infections just from lying all the time and since he cannot cough up his secreations thru the trach. It was 5 months ago yesterday that he had his surgery.
I am doing ok. Kind of at a stall again. I have lost between 78 & 80 pounds depending on what day it is. Seems like I am retaining some fluid with the hot weather. I am feeling good although tired but that could be from still sleeping on the couch every night for months and from being up multiple times during the night. I just ordered some Click protein and I am going to try it, I think it is Christy that has a recipe on here with bananas to use with it and is it Jeanne that likes it also? Anyone else?
Better go get Lyn cleaned up and his next bunch of pills crushed.
Love you all-----Terry

Terry..I tried the Click one time. To fix it as directed, it was just way too strong for me. Not to mention, it's loaded with caffiene. With my intestinal issues, I didn't need to risk ulcers or dehydration. I make up my own powder now. I use the cheap chocolate whey powder from Walmart, a pox of powder milk, a container of sugar-free hot chocolate mix, and a jar of instant decaf coffee. I mix all this up and use about 3 cups per gallon of skim milk. I like it heated, my sil likes it cold. It's nice to see you posting.
Melissa..happy Birthday! I hope you're able to find/make yourself a sugar-free yummy to have with your family.
I had another restless night. It'd be nice if my body would learn how to sleep again!
you all have a good day...

So glad you are doing better.
Terry
I use:
5 lb of the chocolate Whey Protein powder
1 8oz jar of instant decaf coffee
13.8 oz can of Swiss Miss Sugar-free hot chocolate mix
2 lb box of Powder Milk
I mix all of the above and store in air-tight container.
To mix, I mix 3 heaping cups of the above with 4 cups cold water. After it's all dissolved good, I pour it into a 1 gallon container and finish filling it up with skim milk. When I was in Minnesota (Mayo), I just brought the powder with me and mixed it up in water. It tasted fine that way too.
If you make it with the skim milk, per 12 oz serving, it's 26 g of protein and 197 calories. I heat it up in the microwave. My sil drinks it cold. Usually, if you say 'it's healthy', he won't touch it but he loves this stuff.

Good to hear from you Terry. I really like the Click protein, and I do not like coffee. I don't fix it as directed. I use the following recipe (got it from Eggface):
1 scoop Click (15 g. protein)
1 scoop Chocolate protein powder (I use Body Fortress) [26 g. protein]
8 oz milk (I use FF Lactaid) (8 g protein)
1/2 frozen banana
1 Tbsp. SF vanilla syrup (DaVinci or Torani)
3-4 ice cubes
Whirl in blender. It tastes like Starbucks Banana-Chocolate Vivanno.
It's my breakfast every day, and gives me about half of my daily protein needs. On Sundays, I make up my stuff for the week for work. I use the little ziplock snack baggies and put 1 scoop of each of the protein powders in, and use 1 oz condiment cups with lids (from Gordon Food service - left over from right after surgery) and measure in my 1 Tbsp vanilla syrup and cap with a lid. I have 5 of those in a basket on the counter so I can just grab 'em each day. In the fridge, I have an acrylic 40 oz. water bottle that I fill up with Lactaid to take to work on Mondays with my weeks supply of milk for my shakes. I bought an elcheapo blender at Wal Mart - about $15 - and left it at work. Now I can grab and go.
Let me know how you like the Click.
Hope everyone else has a great day - Sherri, hope your day is filled with peace and healing. Lisa - hope you have a Grace-filled day! No more trips! Stay cool!!
For those of you that went to Chicago - remember Floyd's ring-ring tone on his cell phone? I love that - so much that I got it too! It's now the ringer on my phone. Hubby about fell on the floor laughing first time he heard it yesterday!!
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Was planning on finishing up things here at the house. Matt and some friends finally got the mess at the end of our back yard cleaned up where two months ago the electric company cut down four very big pine trees. We wanted to finish up the last two walls of paiting in the livingroom but my mom called about Q. So we had to take him out to the ER and he got two shots and lots of instructions. They think the strawberries he ate weren't clean properly and that's what's giving him this allergic reaction. He looks just plan awful and feels it too. He sees his primary CP first thing tomorrow morning. But I feel so sorry for him. So no painting today.
Matt went to see the new Transformer movie with his mom, Gage is staying a few more days w/his dad. and so it's just me and Q so I'm doing little stuff around the house that always manages to be forgotten to do.
Hope everyone has a peaceful day.
Blessings & Prayers
