So confused! ? ! ?
So I had the nutrician/informational class today and WOW - so much information!! Its so great that the do that and give you a notebook with all the info in it so you can refer back to it.
I do have a question that I thought of after I left. They said you can add baby food to your protein supplement for flavor, but doesn't baby food have sugar in it? Isn't sugar bad? I can't have any artificial sweetner, and haven't been able to find a "Flavored" protein shake that doesn't have artificial sweetner in it. So im trying to think of ways to add variety to the shakes. (I found a plain vegan shake that is a soy isolate based and has no sweetner in it)
Thanks for any help!!

Jamie - read the labels. Anymore, most jarred baby food has no additives, as they finally realized that babies don't need sugar!
You can also blend up fruits and veggies, just as you would if you were making your own baby food so that you can add it to your protein shakes.
I finally found a protein shake that I love (and I'm 6 months out!!). I got the recipe from Eggface.
1 scoop chocolate flavored protein powder (I use Body Fortress)
1 scoop Click protein powder
8 ounces milk (I use fat free Lactaid as I am lactose intolerant)
1 Tbsp sugar free vanilla syrup (I get DaVinci syrup at WalMart in the coffee aisle)
1/2 frozen banana
just a few ice cubes
Whiz it up in the blender and enjoy! I do not like coffee at all, but I like Click protein powder in this recipe. It tastes just like a Starbucks Chocolate-Banana Vivanno - which was a fave of mine pre op.
This gives me : 26 g protein for the Body Fortress, 15 g protein for the Click, and 8 g for the milk for a total of 49 g protein in one heavenly shake.
