Why do some adults acts like children?

I have to vent a bit here!!  I just started selling Avon yesterday and there is a girl at work here who sells it. In fact, I've bought from her before. She's one of those people that has such a negative outlook and treats people like crap. Anyway, I had asked her for help when I was wanting to become a representative. Her rep never contacted me so, I went about it my own way through the Avon site. Someone contacted me right away and she came to my house to train me. She was so nice.
So, here is my story: I told this girl at work about wanting to become a rep and that I didn't want to step on her toes since she had customers here at work. She said thats ok because she was going to get out of it anyway. So, yesterday in our breakroom I wanted to set two books out and I looked to make sure her's were not there before I set mine out. Today she acts mad at me after she saw my book on my desk with two orders on it, and I just went into the break room and found my books under a stack of magazines and she had several books out everywhere. Can we say OMG!!  Heck Campaign 13 is due tomorrow and she just put the books out today? How very petty some people can be. I really don't expect any different from her so, I took my books back and the people that want to buy from me can come buy from me in my office. I think I hit the little green eyed monster right on her competative streak. I swear I just can't believe she could be that petty.
Ok, well I just wanted to vent.

There are alot of women out there that sale avon that act that way. I have found that the older ladies that have doing it for many years are by far the very worst!!!!! They get very territorial (however you spell that)  and bout c 13 due in tomorrow thats wierd cuz we are in the same state and my c 12 was just due yesterday. I dont submit my 13 until the 22nd lol.  You will just learn not to let them bother you.  The way I feel about it is if their customers are happy with the rep they have then the rep has nothing to worry about but if their customers decided to go else where then, maybe they should think about the way they did business with them.  

That is weird because my c. 13 is due tomorrow. Glad to meet a fellow Avon-ist, LOL. I guess I do understand that people get territorial and I did consider the source with this lady but, its just unneccessary and like you said, if they are satisfied with their rep then they have nothing to worry about.

I had a lot of issues with other women in the area when I sold Avon. It's actually one of the reason's I quit. I really dig the products, I just couldn't deal with the other reps, and hated having to constantly tell customers they were backordering their products. (when the rest of the country wasn't even getting them yet...it made me question their stocking practices)

Part of Indiana is in a test market. When I was selling, we were actually 2 campaigns ahead of the rest of the country. Don't know if that's changed to just 1 or what.

I wouldn't worry about it. With her behavior, it's likely that she has had more than one customer unhappy with her. They'll come around and shop from you, even if you don't put books in the break room.

You can, however drop hints at people's desks. If you have Word and a printer, you can print your own business cards at home. Several years ago, at least, Avon had images you could use on business cards on their site. Pair up the cards with lip balm or the small tubes of hand cream, or perfume samples.  Good luck!

Thanks ladies!  Good suggestion about the business cards and samples. I am going to order some cards and I need to find out how to order the samples on the Avon website. There is still so much to learn and I am brand new at this :)
