MY Mom...

Hey Everyone Moms surgery went great! They were able to remove all the scar tissue and the mesh. They are sending the mesh to get it cultured to see if there was any infections in/on it. They weren't able to completely close her stomach muscle completely, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Bergman both said it would just be too tight for Mom. So they had to use some cow 'tissue' to close up the muscle the rest of the way. But both of the Dr.s said it is alot better then a regular mesh and it will help Mom heal better/faster. Good news she had no hernias, wierd news  she has NO belly button... haha Looks funny but if all this stops all the distension and diarrea I really don't think it is going to bother Mom at all!  Dr. Gupta checked over Mom's intestines and all looks good.. Mom's incision looks great too, both Dr's did a great job.. Hopefully Mom can recover fast and get out of the hospital soon. Her room number is 312 and her room phone number is 582-7702. They said she would probably be in for 3-4 days, but it all depends on Mom's pain control, and they want to make sure her bowells wake up from all the looking Dr. Gupta did during surgery. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and good wishes going Mom's way, it is very appreciated! I know Mom can't wait to get on here and chat with everyone! Oh I checked this morning Im officially at 31 pounds.. WOOHOO... Sorry I haven't  been on here much.. hopefully with more time off this week when Im not at the hospital with Mom, I can get on here more... Hope everyone has a great week!!

Congrats Tiffany on your weight loss you are doing great.
Glad mom is okay and she be in those jeans in no time,give her a gentle hug for me.
I couldnt wait to lose all my weight so i could get a belly button ring but i dont have a belly buton anymore/

Thanks Tiff for the update.  I've been thinking about your mom all day & praying for her.  I have a belly button but it frowns.  I waited a little over a year post-op to have my TT and thought I was stabilized in my weight,.  But in the next 6 months I lost another 40#.  So I have some more saggy skin & a sad belly button.  I need a revision. LOL   But I'm not complaining.

So glad that your mom is doing well.  About the bellybutton...Eve didn't have one either.  Think about it.
Veggietales has a great "belly button song" about the veggie that was upset that he didn't have a belly button.

Thanks Everyone!! Its an amazing/frustrating feeling when your pants are 'falling off'.... Were you all woohoo!!?? I will put a post on here tonight about Mom, Im getting ready to go get Bill in about an hour and go back up there... Hope everyone has a great Day!

Thank Tiff for the update on Sherri, I am happy that everything went so well and hopefully this will bring her alot of relieve from the pain and issues she has been having.
