Doggie daycare....?

As most of you know, we have a 2 yr old Shepard mix..Lotus. She's very loveable & house trained. When we went to Mayo each time, Lotus stayed with Floyd & Brenda and kept CJ company. Next weekend, when we go to Holiday World, Floyd & Brenda are also going to Holiday World. Scott is going over to their house to sit with CJ. Bill & I didn't think it'd be right to ask Scott to take care of Lotus too. It's one thing to impose on friends when it's a medical thing..but not when it's so we can go have fun..you know? We aren't going to ask Tiffany to keep Lotus. She has cats...including a new litter of kittens...and Lotus...as loveable as she is, thinks Dogs Rule. lol.

So...Bill has been checking into Doggie daycares. So far, he hasn't had a lot of luck with that. One place, instead of getting this one shot anually as per the vet, they want it to be every 6 months. At another place, you & your dog has to 'interview' for an opportunity to maybe get on their reserved listing. Another place, MIGHT be able to 'squeeze' her in. Does anyone know of a good place here in Indy? Preferably on the east/north-east side? If you do, please drop me an email ([email protected]).

Thanks!
Sherri

Sherri-

I am a dog trainer and frequently board dogs for my clients.  I am in Lafayette, but if you want to drive her up here, I am sure we could work something out.

We always board at our vet's place. Have you checked there?

I take my dog to two places.  One she got kicked out of LOL - but that's another story.

Fetch Academy - 96th street and michigan rd

Dog Dayz - Nobelsville near 146th and 37.  This is where we adopted her from and the place I like the best.

I don't have the numbers but if you google them they'll come up.   Dog  Dayz is a bigger outfit and there are more dogs.   Both places require bordetella every 6 months and all shots must be up to date.

Hope this helps.

The doggie situations been taken care of. Floyd and Brenda saw my note, called Scott and okay'ed it with him...
So..Lotus will be keeping CJ company. Those two really are alot of fun to watch together. It took them maybe a half hour to warm up to each other the first time they met but after that? They became quick buds.

So..thank you all for your responses. And Shanna, thank you so much for the offer. Lotus will be coming to the camp-out with us in August. Maybe we can see how Bella hits it off with her then. Lotus loves kids. We had gotten her on Dec. 20th and took her with us to the kids on Christmas. She did fantastic and would let all the kids love up on her and not mind at all. I know some kids are scared of dogs...but my grandkids? When in comes to animals I don't think they know the word.

Now to get this week done with so we can be in Holiday World!
