This may be a silly question but...did your feet get smaller? My mother-in-law once told me that she went down a shoe size when she started losing weight. (she had RNY as a cancer treatment) I can't ask her to clairfy it, as she passed away in 2006.
I'd like to get a new pair of walking shoes as an incentive to go wandering after I come home from the hospital. BUT, I don't want to plunk down $40 for new shoes when they'll only fit so long, ya know. The shoes I have will work fine for a while, if they need to. (daggon it....I'm female. It's the only girly thing I like!! Course, I'd rather get tennis shoes than heels, but ya know what I mean!)

I was retaining a lot of water before I had the surgery and alot of it was in my feet.  I went for a 10-11 to and 8 1/2 in the last pair of tennis shoes, some I still have I to buy in a 9.  I would wait before I spend a lot of money on a good pair of shoes.

I went from a 8 1/2 to a 7 1/2, don't waste your money, it won't take long for your shoe size to change maybe six months, then spend the money.   I have found that your shoes will need replaced after about six months anyway because of wear.
