Find Acheivone cheaper elsewhere? ibariatrics will match it 48.99 a case.
I've been getting my AcheivOne from www.netrition.com. It's a flat rate o**** for shipping regardless of how many cases you buy and 48.99 a case. My sister called me after talking to ibariatric and they said that they will match it and let me order. Everyone has been out of the Cappucino flavored ones and ibariatric was the only one that had them in and so I called them and they gave me the same price as netrition. How kewl is that??
Wendy,
AchievOne is a ready-to-drink protein drink. It's 15 g of protein and 80 calories. Protein to calories, it's one of the best ones out there. It is packaged like a juicy box. It now comes in 6 flavors.
I was an avid fan of AchievOne but they changed their formula when they went from glass packaging to the juicy boxes. It use to be an enjoyable drink that I wanted to drink..now? It's a protein drink. It just isn't worth the $ to me now.
BJsBariatrics.Com also carries it. BJ's is local here in Indianapolis and will deliver it right to your door. Their pricing is comparable to ibariatric's except they don't charge shipping if it's local. BJ's will also let you mix up the flavors in a case. No other place that I have found will let you do that. Every time that I have ordered over $100 worth on ibariatric.com, the shipping charges have been screwed up so if you order through them, pay attention to what they put on your charge card.

Holly,
I mix up my own concoction:
5 lb of whey chocolate protein (the 'cheap' stuff at Walmart)
1 med box of powder milk
1 can sf hot chocolate mix
2 jars instant decaf coffee
I mix all of this together and store it in a cool, dry place.
To prepare:
3 heaping cups of mix
4 cups COLD water
Mix well. Add skim milk to make 1 gallon.
I generally heat this up in the microwave. My sil loves drinking it cold. I do still have AchievOne's in the fridge...but once they are gone, I doubt I will order any more of them. They messed up a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Since you'd never had the original, you might be ok with them. I would recommend pouring it into a glass instead of drinking it from the juicy box.

Sue,
I had put it in Fitday..and of course, this will vary a little bit depending on how much mix you use to suite your taste buds...and if you mix it in water or skim milk (like I described above). This was figured using 3 level cups of mix. I use 3 heaping cups..but this also doesn't take into account the little space that the decaf instant coffee takes up so I figure it's pretty close to accurate using heaps instead of level. The powdered milk adds protein to it and also made it to where I didn't have to buy milk while I was up at Mayo. I had recommend that Tiffany bring some of the powder mix along on her camping trip this weekend so she wouldn't have to worry about keeping milk good in the cooler. If you choose to eliminate it, you'll be decreasing your protein intake..the same if you choose to use all water. Both offer ~1 g of protein per 10 calories so an excellent protein:calorie source. The carbs mainly come from the Walmart protein powder and the sf hot chocolate mix. My nut told me to get at least 100 g of carbs per day so for me, this works out pretty good since I'm hypoglycemic and alot of carb sources could cause my sugar to plummet. This doesn't. I'm not a big hot cocoa fan and even less so of a cold chocolate milk one. The sf hot chocolate makes the Walmart powder be a little smoother for my taste buds. And well..decaf instant coffee....what's not to like? lol
I can sometimes find (but not always!) 5 lb containers at Walmart for ~$30. That may seem pricey but for the same $50 that I'd spend on 1 case of AchievOne, I can get everything for a batch of my mix, have change left over, and it last me for well over a month. There is NO WAY a 12 pack case of the original AchievOne's would have last more than 6 days at 2 per day (and many days, I'd have 3). So..this mix is also economical. I would be happiest though if I could find the 5 lb powder in flavorless so I could add my own cocoa and sweetner so I could control how chocolatey it is. Oh..I've never tried it with vanilla flavor because I can't choke down vanilla protein drinks. I would really recommend anyone playing with the ingredients you want to use to get to a flavor that is uniquely your own. Myself, I like mocha java...so..that's why I started off with decaf coffee & chocolate flavor powder.
The protein powder from Walmart says to use 2 scoops per serving for 52 g of protein. I can't choke down that much mix. That is just way too potent for me.
