Still Plugging Away!

Yep, I am still kicking! Life has been hectic but I am so happy to be doing as well as I am. I am working on my appetite control and am now down to 278 pounds and feeling really thrilled about that. I have dropped 16~18 pounds this past 2 months and am THRILLED!!! I would still like to lose down to about 260 (my after plastics weight) and then get back into maintance mode. I have been so busy bouncing between work, home and my mothers that I have to fight to make time for me...lol  I get on here to catch up some on the posts but rarely get time to post much. I am still so happy to be on this journey and each day I am so thankful for my blessings. Life has been good to me and my cup of blessings runneth over! I hold you all in my heart and in my prayers!

I hope to make something this year! lol My job area is shakey right now so I may end up with alot of time later on this summer and then I will get myself in line! :-) Sherri I hope your tummy is better now.....did they get you fixed at Mayo?

No. But I was able to get them to say the magical words 'Close this girl up!'. They ran a few tests (very few compared to what we thought they'd do). The GI doc had me see a dietician (gee...like THAT wasn't done here). I requested to see a hernia specialist also. That was the appointment that made the difference between worth it and a waste of time & money. She looked at my stomach & the open areas and said that the mesh is infected & all needs to come out and that my abdominal wall needs to be closed up. The GI doctor concurred with everything she said. Bill & I preferred to have that done here. Dr. Bergman & Dr. Gupta will be tag-teaming it here in Indy (ST. V's Carmel) on June 9th. Mayo put me on a bunch of pills to take before, during, and after meals to try to improve my digestion and decrease the distension. They do help some..unless I'm on antibiotic. Then my intestines like to act like I'm not taking anything to improve them at all. So...it's kinda critical for me for people to stay home if they are sick. I plan to stress that BIG TIME when I get back to work. Some people view it as 'toughing it out' but for me? It takes an antibiotic to get rid of strep throat...and the antibiotic causes me to miss an FMLA amount of time. Grrr.... That, will probably be a lifetime thing.

So...I'll be having my blackberry with me at the hospital...probably my laptop too. Gonna be my hospital chat buddy again? lol. Do you text? We'll have to let our fingers do some walking while I'm in. Oh..I went to a more minute call plan too and will have some rollovers available too. lol.

Well gee wiz girl! I hope you aere planning on writing a book about this!1 For all you have been thru! Sheesh! I am so glad they are finally getting you closed up. I am home evenings Monday thru Thursday most weeks so definatly give me a number to call you at the hospital and I will call you when you are up to chating. I have never added text to my plan...I am slow on the numbers / alpha thing with a phone...takes f o r e v e r !!!! lol I know you will be in good hands...I love Dr. B and if I ever can afford it I would love to get my arms done. She is Awesome!
