OMG!!! Peggy!!! You will NOT believe this!!!
omg! omg! omg!!!
Peggy, girl....
i think someone better call St. v's and forewarn their @sses!!!!
Peggy and I are having our WLS, the SAME day...SAME time!!!!
OMG!!!!!!
this is providing that everything goes well w/ my recovery!!!
sooooooooo...
we WILL be walking the halls shakin our leather clad butts as we go!!!
LOL
after going thru everything i've been thru...i gotta honestly tell ya...
im scared chitless...i think thats why the cardiac surgeon is so adamant that i have the WLS @ 6 wks. b/c he told me that only 50% of ppl will go on and actually have the surgery...the other 50% give up and say its not worth it...i think hes afraid of that for me...but i am scared....scared i wont make it thru....this last one was pretty bad...so im freakin out!!! but NOW the drs have pretty much confirmed that i have sleep apnea...( i go in to get tested for that next wk) so i can get my machine b/4 wls....
if you have sleep apnea and dont tell your surgeon or are undiagnosed, it is so much harder to get you off of the ventilater...that's what happened to me this time...after the FOURTH time...they were FINALLY able to get me off of it!!! so yah, im pretty scared!
hugs and much love Peggy!!!

Thats fantastic that you're having your surgeries the same day!!!! The staff on the bari floor should be warned. LOL
You have really been through it, girl. Now that they have pretty much figured out that you have sleep apnea, they'll know how to deal with it in the hospital.
I had sleep apnea too before my WLS. I've gone through a few of those sleep studies myself. It seems weird having them video taping every move you make and every breath you take and DON"T take, all night long plus all the little probes they put on your body and in your HAIR. Its yucky trying to get that goo out the next day. Maybe they don't do the test that way anymore.
It's kinda scary when you get the report back and they tell you how many times you stop breathing in just a one minute time span.
But the good new is that one month after my WLS I no longer needed the machine. But I'm still a lousy sleeper. I've been tested since then, but I'm just not a sound sleeper and don't get much sleep at night. I just don't get into the REM sleep mode they talk about so I don't feel rested in the morning. But I'm not complaining, I still have way more energy than I use to have.
Drink, drink drink girl. Hydration is very important. You will lose that water weight gain. I about crapped when I gained 17# after some PS I had. I did come out with new twin girls (and gorgeous thin arms) but I about freaked that they must have given me Dolly Parton boobs to gain that much weight I was in surgery for almost 7 hours so they were really pumping me full of fluids for the 23 hours I was there. I did take all of it back off. And I loved the results afterwards.
