I've had issue's with Meat ever since I've had this Surgery! ( Lap RNY
The Nut told me that when I had issue's with Egg's I would probably have issue's with Meat .
And well I've been OK sometime's with it but I know I'm not able to get my 60 to 80 Grams of Protein.
And I was just wondering who else has had issue's?
I had my Surgery 7Months ago!
Thanks
Rick

Rick,  I've had problems with meat, especially chicken but now at 10 months I seem to be doing ok. I still have to chew the heck out of it or it feels like I've swallowed a marble. I never had problems with eggs, I ate those early out but when it came time to adding the meat, it was very difficult and I had trouble for months. What types of problems are you having? Is it similar to what I described or does it bother your stomach? Are you throwing it up?
Be Well  : )

Hi Rick good to see you posting
I do have trouble with meat im 15 mths out and yesterday was the 1st time i keep ground chuck down usually i cant swallow it without it getting stuck, but before i could eat chicken and now i cant weird huh.
But to get my protein in i rely on cottage cheese and reg cheese,(fish wish i love) tuna and Peggys chicken salad and salads with boiled eggs  and turkey meatballs in sugar free spaghetti sauce  i have found its alot of trial and error ....
Good luck

That reminds Lisa, I got elected to make chicken salad for our support group Tuesday night.  Hopefully we can make it to the next clothing exchange or event and I will make some just for you.  Hugs Buddy

Rick,

I am over 3 years out and I am still not able to do pork loin.  I have just recently started having trouble with eggs, and the Nut I talked to said, my body is changing.

Try some protein shakes, if nothing else.  I have found a great website to get some awesome flavors for protein shakes.  www.bodybuilder.com

Hope you can find a happy medium.

Hugs

I have had issues with chicken and ham within my first year of surgery, but I noticed that mostly I was eating it too fast. I used to work a job where I was on the road all the time, usually eating and driving, pulling over and throwing up... But have only had two incidents where I was sitting at the table and eating. I have never had an issue with eggs.  For protein my first year I was real big on cheese, cottage cheese and milk I drank a lot of milk.  Good luck and hopefully your new tummy will come to terms with the meat you want to eat, you might try cutting it into smaller pieces to start with.

I am 9 months out (which is HARD to believe).  I have trouble with pork roast and SOME chicken.  The meat has to be pretty moist for me.  But even if roast is tender it still hurts.  I am able to eat EGGs.  I started on those early out b/c I couldn't find protein I could keep down.  Now, I rely on eggs, shrimp, cheese , steak (which I just tried and can eat no problem)and greek yogurt to get my protein.
