Linda Kay's sister... prayers requested

Linda Kay's sister Rita has been battling cancer for a while now and she is going down hill fast.  She's at the point now where she is completely unresponsive and yesterday hospice said that she only has days left.  Tonight nearly all of the family came to visit her and I although I think most have come to terms with the reality that she won't be with us on this earth much longer, it still isn't easy for anyone.

Please pray for her loved ones, pray that they may find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Thank you in advance!
Melissa

Rita, Linda Kay and the entire family is in my prayers during this most difficult time.  I am glad they are able to have hospice care for Rita, the hospice folks really helped us through at the end of my Grandpa's life.  The hospice lady said that not many people realize what they do or how they work so they don't use them, I encourage every one of you to research hospice now so if you are ever faced with such a difficult time in your life you will be armed with resources.  May God bless your family and all families who are fighting this battle today.  I pray for peace to be with you.

Thank you to everyone for your concern and support.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to Linda today to hear how things are going, so I don't have any new information to pass along.

I will do my best to share any new information as I hear about it.  Thanks again!!

Melissa,

Please let Linda Kay know I'm keeping her and all of the family in my thoughts.  I lost my grandmother to cancer back in 1995 and my grandfather in 2003.  It is very hard watching them deteriorate, but (at least for us) when the end came, we were so greatful that they weren't suffering anymore that it sort of overrode our sense of loss.  We still missed them, but it hurt more to watch them hurt and go downhill.

Thanks Cindy!

I know what you mean, and I hope that Linda Kay and her family are more comforted by the fact that she will no longer be in pain and that those feelings will override the sense of loss.  Our brains understand this concept, but our hearts only feel the pain.

I got an update from Linda Kay earlier today and although Rita is more coherent today than she has been in days, her blood pressure is very high and her pulse is very low (39).  It's often said that people seem to get better or make small improvements in the days/hours just before they pass away.  That's what some of the family thinks is happening with Rita today.
