One Year Today!!

Well friends, today marks one year since my surgery and what a year it has been.  I had no problems with my surgery or recovery.  I did what Dr. Gupta and the nutritionists at St. V. said to do and I attribute my success to that!  I lost every week for 48 weeks until I hit my goal, then the next week I had a gain.  I have continued to stay under my goal.  I'm afraid of gaining but also afraid of continuing to lose!  I'm happy with how I look now and how I feel.  I have more energy, can buy nice clothes, get compliments but most of all I enjoy how my husband can wrap his arms around me now!  I completed 2 half marathons in the last 2 weeks (this is the only way I will ever do a marathon - with 2 weeks between the halves!)  I want to go white water rafting!

Thanks to all on this board that have helped - this is truely what educated me and helped me make my decision.  I hope that I can help others.

Congrats Barb  it is truly nice to hear of the success !!!!!  And out running in marathons, half or not that is still wonderful !!!!!  You said the most important words: you did everything your surgeon and nutritionist told you to do !!!!!!

Happy Surgiversary to you and congrats on a job well done!!  The half marathons are wonderful, did you walk them or run them?  I would love to do something like that, right now I am only walking though with a lil running here and there mixed in.

Jeannie,
Thanks!  I walked the races.  I have done them before losing weight but this time was so much easier and faster!!  Start with some smaller races if you want to get involved.  They are addictive because I'm competitive and I like to go faster!  A 5K is very do-able for  just about anybody.  Do you have a local walking/running club?  They usually have weekly or monthly events.  That's how I got started and it's something my husband and I enjoy doing together.  Good luck!

WOW!! Barb, you have done wonderful. What great success and now look, you are living life to the fullest. BRAVO  good job.
I bet hubby loves it too. That's what my husband says, he will say "you fit better in my arms now". Like when we first met.

Take Care
Be Well  : )
