I've been lurking around here for a while since going to an informational session at St. V's last month. I'll probably be having surgery later this year but I haven't decided where or even which procedure (down to RNY or DS). I liked what I saw at St. V's but I still want to visit another hospital or two.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm sure I'll be posting more as I decide when & where I'll be having surgery.

This is a big decision and only you can make the right choice for you.  My husband and I had our surgeries, (2 years apart) at St V's.  We have nothing but good to say about that.  I am sure you will know what is right for you.  If you can, find a support group to go to.  You will hear the good, the bad and the ugly things about WLS.  Make up your mind then.  Realize that is is not always an easy journey, but it is a rewarding journey.
God Bless

Welcome aboard!!!
You'll decide what's right for you and which facility your prefer.  READ, READ, and then when ya think you're done...read some more!! Educate yourself about the procedures and you'll figure out which ones best for YOU!
GREAT ppl and such a wonderful support system....
We look forward to your progress and you go along....

Welcome to the board!  We have great people from all over that have used different places for our surgery.  We have several with different types and experiences too.  Most everyone is very open and ready to share so ask anything you wish.  Someone will chime in for sure.

We are always excited to see newbies join us!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Thanks everyone, and It's good to know there are people close by.

And Shanna, I can't believe you work at the DQ! That's pretty brave. I don't even have a sweet tooth and I don't think I could work there and not eat the ice cream!
