Bruising

Does anyone else bruise easy.  I have always been easy to bruise but lately it is more then normal.  I have been noticing bruises all over my body and not sure how I am getting them.  I have them in spots that is not easy to bump against something.  If this keeps up then I will be contacting my PCP.

I started brusing easy too.. one time a Dr told me it was lackof vitamins... but a WLS neighbor told me it is because when we were FAT our capilaries  had to grow to the top of  the skin and now that we are loosing so much weight they are so close to the top of the skin we can bruise easy... it is also why we get cold so easy... because the capilaries are laying at the top of our skin.. but you can ask the dr to be sure...

I looke like the walking wounded all the time with the bruises. Seriously, Its bad and you should see the veins in my legs. My veins are close to the top of my skin anyway but now they are popping through my skin. Vericose veins MUCH? I started using self tanner to kind of "hide" the bruising. Its sorta works.

I bruise easily too.  Oh and if I scratch my neck or arm (or anywhere) I get huge welps now too.  That never happened before surgery.  People all the time are saying "OMG what did you do to your neck?"  I say, "Nothing, I just scratched it."   I looks like I just whipped myself or something.

That happened to me Peggy just a few weeks back. I researched the subject of bruising and WLS and found that it could also be iron or a low vit C level. I started taking an iron pill every other night and honestly my bruising isn't so bad. I just had my 9 mo check up with Dr. Rosie and they gave me the slip to have my blood tests done before my 12 mo mark. We will see what my levels said then but, I just suspected it was probably the iron. So anyway, it worked though because when I broke my nose last week, I only had minimal bruising (surprising).

Hmmmmmmmmm I already take 2 iron pills and 2 Vit C everyday, because I have had low iron levels but they we back to the ok level with my last labs. I will talk to my PCP and Dr Huse when I see them next.
