Lutheran Bariatrics

HI!!
I am scheduled for surgery on May 11th..YIPPEE!!!!  can't wait!!!  I live north of Fort Wayne so my surgery is at Lutheran Hospital with doctor Sloan...has anyone else had him?? 
So far I really like the things I do..okay, maybe not everything..this 4 weeks on Opti-fast is a true test but I can do it  :o)...one week left!!!!
I LOVE reading everything on this board and am happy to be a part of it!!  Only wish I lived closer to Indy to get together with this group as it seems that is where most are from...maybe after surgery and re-cop I can make the short trip for some event...

Hi there. Paulac260 had her surgery with Dr. Sloan in Fort Wayne. He's a fabulous surgeon, but from what I remember her saying, the Lutheran staff doesn't know enough about post op bariatric care. You really need someone with you who can advocate for you (walking every 2 hours, not taking handfuls of pills, etc). Get in contact with her, I'm sure she can give you more info.

I wish you the best of luck in your post op course. Come back here frequently for support and encouragement, as we all need it from time to time, but especially right after surgery!!

I am originally from the FW area and love Dr. Sloan, I know he'll take good care of you. By the way, what's your name?? ;o)
