Where has Kathy Been???

Hi Everyone,  Thanks so much for your prayers, support, and encouragement.  I really appreciate it.  Daddy was released from the hospital Friday night.  They have been checking his creatine levels everyday (kidney function) and his numbers are starting to go down now which is great news!!  The surgeon raced in his room 5 minutes before he was supposed to go down to surgery to have the stint put in the good kidney and they cancelled it because of the levels going down now.  It may still have to be done at some point in the future if his levels rise again, but we'll cross that bridge when it comes.

They said he has been a complicated case.  He has a neprologist, urologist, pulmonalogist,   and vascular specialist.  I've never seen so many doctors coming and going in my life and not always the same faces either.  So and so is covering for so and so, or a resident, or fellow, and it has been stressful.  I like to see the same doctor throughout the whole process, but that's not the way it was done there.....or couldn't be done.  I did my best to advocate for him and get the communication between all the doctors unscrambled.   BIG Sigh!

Their not able to determine he definately has a lung clot.  He's has two test to compare but the best test possible to say yah or nay can't be done of him because no dye can be injected in his body.  It will ruin his kidney function.  So we have to go with a maybe. They kept him in the hospital extra days and they feel that if it was there for sure that he'd have adverse reaction by now.  And he was up walking the halls w/o help, shaving himself, and not using oxygen anymore.  Everything looks good.

He's really had lots of blessings through out this and lots of good news but he is one to dwell on the negative.  I've worked really hard with him to focus on the positives.  I've had lots of practice turning that thinking around in my own life and it has benefited me so much in my day to day life as well as in my bariatric journey.  I wouldn't be where I am today if not for God's help and my determination to change myself and my thinking patterns.

All of you keep your chin up and don't give up on yourself no matter how hard it gets for you.  Good will come out of every bad thing that tries to defeat us, we just have to be tough and ride out the storm.  It is always worth the struggle in the end.  God doesn't ever let us down.

I'm praying for everyone's special needs and would love to hear from any of you.  I miss you all so much.  Looking forward to coming home but don't know when yet.  Things are settling down here now.

Love, hugs, and blessings,
Kat

Kathy,

That is wonderful news about your dad. I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out. I know how frustrating it can be for him to be 'not textbook'.  I know it gets frustrating for Bill (his eyes) and I (my stomach) but we just have to believe that God has a purpose for everything.

It'll be good for you to be able to come home and resume your life. Let me know when you are home and maybe we can all get together for dinner or something. I'd love to see you again.

huggs & prayers,
Sherri

Hi Kathy !  Sounds like your dad might not be out of the woods yet but clearly he is walking the perimeter and getting plenty of that sunshine!!!!!  You take care of yourself and get some rest too!!!!  You and your family will continue to be in my prayers!!!!!
