Sorry for pestering you ole timers, but I need to suck some knowledge from you.  What vitamins are you taking? How much? How often? Are certain brands or forms better than others?  My Doc told me to take a multivit....just doesn't seem like much from what I have read on the boards.

Also, anyone in the Franklin area interested in walking?  I thought if I had a partner I might be more disciplined.

Thanks!

Hey Sherry,

I just went to my NUT class a couple of weeks ago and they told us that you should take a children's CHEWABLE multivitamin 3 times a day...they told us that the store brands were just as good as "flintstones chewables"

hope that helps!

Lunch:
2 calcium
My favorite Prozac

Dinner:
2 calcium

Bedtime:
Prenatal ( script from nuts)

16th of every month I do 1.5 ml b12 shot in my thigh

Thats its....I am substituting calcium chews 2 each day for 2 calcium pills but I am temp out! I do like them but @ 10.00 a month for 2 a day its a bit $$ But if it keeps me from having to take 2 of those calcium pills.

same as Shanna here except I use the calcium lozenges thru bariatric advantage in place of the pills she is taking, I also have to take Prevacid for the first 3 months and I also take a biotin once a day.

I wont be much help to a newbie I have been out so long but I go to Walmart since my 6 month check up and take an Equate Senior.. like Centrum Silver... I take Biotin and B-1 and Calcium Citrate pill and once a week a B-12 pill...under my tounge. These pills are not coated and I have proven they melt in an ounce of water within 5 minutes showing they will not come out whole in the bathroom.

You do need to run everything past your nut because they are following you and everyones body absorbs differently..

Hey sweetie
I couldnt keep my vits down so i was on chewables for the first month since then i take one aday complete and biotin and now 2 b12 tablets and a calcuim ciltatre .
I did see that they now sell alot of prenatal vits over the counter now.
I ask about the one a day complete because i was on comadin and there was only certain ones i could take and this pill is little and goes down well.
Good luck everyone is diffrent..

My neighbor had surgery with Dr Lindsey, I will have her contact you.  I do know she takes at least a multi and calcium, I am thinking B12 too but not for sure.  I do know that Dr Lindsey's office recommends the Origin brand of multi vitamins for women because she turned me on to them, they are loaded with extra vitamins.  Personally I take:
Morning
Multi Vit
Calcium
D3
Omega 3
B12 sublingual -every other day

Night
Multi Vit
Calcium
I just use the regular vitamins and the petite calcium,  I have never had a problem swallowing pills like some talk about.  Centrum makes a chewable multi vitamin though.
