My WOW moment
Just thought I would share my wow moment with all of you. I participated in the March of Dimes walk today. We wanted to show our support since our precious girls were born premature and benefited from the great work that March of Dimes does for prematurity.
Anyway, it was a 4 mile walk and there is absolutely no way I would have even considered doing a walk like this before WLS because there's no way I would have been able to finish. Today I was tired when we were done, but I made it and that's all that matters! (We pulled the girls in a wagon, so they didn't have to walk the whole way).
Isn't it funny how exciting something like this is for us? Most people take it for granted.

Way to go Melissa! I walked that walk a few years ago (in honor of my patients) and about died. It was cold and rainy though, at least you had a nice warm day. I think pulling the girls would be more exhausting than doing the walk!
Just think how easy it will be next year!

Yes, the weather was perfect and the walk was early enough in the morning that it hadn't gotten too hot yet. Pulling the girls did make it a little harder, but not nearly as hard as it would have been to try to carry them when they were tired of walking! At least DH and I took turns pulling the wagon, so neither one of us had to do it the whole time.
I'm looking forward to doing more of this!

Hi Carolyn!
This was my first attempt at a MOD walk, but I've wanted to go on them every year since the girls were born and just wasn't physically able to go until now. It was a great feeling to accompli**** now! I saw several of the nurses from the NICU there and there were moms there with babies that had oxygen and heart monitors and things like that and it brought back so many memories. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 5 years now that we all met because of our sick little babies and now all 4 of them are doing so well and have come so far!
It's so good to hear from you!! How are you?? I hope everything's going well for you!
