I'm home!
I got home yesterday evening! Surgery went well on Monday! I was up walking by 11 a.m. and by Wednesday morning I had walked 2 1/2 miles already! YIPPEE!! Jamie C. was there also. Saw him up walking but he had an Open so he was having a little rougher time. Trying to find a schedule to get all my food, liquids, shakes, and pills in....this is an ALL day job right now! Thanks for being here!

Thats great Melissa!! Glad to hear from you and that you are home now. I was wondering how you were doing? I hadn't even heard about this room before I had my surgery. I didn't discover this OH site until weeks after I had my surgery. I wish I would have had all of the support ahead of time but, I have my husband and he is my best support. I didn't know anyone in the hospital when I was there but, there was one girl running competition with me since she wanted to be the one who walked the most miles. HA! I didn't even know who she was but the nurses would tell me that once I came out to walk, she would come out and walk more. She had already had surgery years previously and was there for a bleeding ulcer because she was a heavy smoker. So, here me, a fresh RNYer actually walked more miles because the morning her and I went home, I walked 2 more miles as she was getting to leave. HA! I never even saw the woman but, I should thank her for pushing me along like that. And, I am not a competitive person but when the nurses said she said she would bet me.... I thought, Oh no you don't. HAHAHA.
You take care and keep in touch with me, in case you need anything. We are in the same town so, call on me whenever you need.
Way to Go!! Loser!!!

Thanks everyone!! I had a meltdown this morning because nothing tasted good to drink mainly and I was overwhelmed with all the pills, meals that I wasnt hungry for and protein shakes. So I was crying through my breakfast when my husband came in and asked what was wrong so I burst into another round of tears and told him everything....so he grabs the basket with every flavor of crystal light singles in it and starts pulling one of each out, he pulled decaf tea out of the cabinet and started making it and said, " We will make every flavor until we find something you like!" So I do like decaf iced tea and then for lunch he made me refried beans with cheese sprinkled on top with sour cream drizzled over it....YUM! He also made me an ounce of chicken broth which I really like also. He got me to get most of my pills in today plus a protein shake....it was SO hard but it helps so much having the loving support of my hubby!
Melissa I'm so sorry you had a bad morning but like you said you do have a wonderful husband that is going to make sure you make it through the tough times. And he did just that for you and I'm glad your day turned out for the better, try to enjoy the great weekend ahead and it's OK to let your emotions go, I had to a little when I woke up last night in severe pain because I should have set a timer to remind me to get up and take my pain meds, instead my timer ending up being severe incision/stomach pain but as soon as my wife got the pain meds in me all was well and I was back resting. Needless to say the timer is set tonight. I know all docs have different instructions but I'm not even trying protein supplements until at least another 3-4 days maybe 5 (waiting on a movement if ya know what i mean, lol). As for everything else I have been able to get it in but I have to have my sippy cup in hand at all times except for the meal times and 30 minutes after each. Its definitely overwhelming at first to say the least but we will get it all down and we have such great brothers and sisters on this site.
