Happy Hump Day...!

I'll start off this morning.  I've been kind of quiet lately - I have developed a bad case of shingles!  Evidently the surgery was a traumatic event for this old body, and it brought on shingles.  It is so painful.  It started Friday night.

Working like this is not any fun at all, let me tell ya!  I have enough medicine to choke a horse, including Darvocet for pain.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!  Come on sunshine!!

Oh no Christie I am so sorry.  My grandpa got the shingles a couple years ago and he really suffered and never got over them.  I pray you get better soon.

I am working in a lil bit so up and at em already.  I started using my daily food and exercise journal again yesterday, my last entry was Jan 17Th..ugh.  I had my body analysis done and it told me I would need to have 1500 calories a day to maintain my current weight so I have set my goal to be at 500 net calories a day and see if I lose the two lbs a week like science has said I will.  I will eat 1000 calories and exercise off 500 on the treadmill.  I don't know how a person survives on 500 net calories but I guess we can.

Peace and love to you all,
Jeannie

Jeannie,

I am totally clueless about counting calories therefore I don't do it myself, but isn't it possible that you are eating too few calories and therefore your body thinks it's starving?  Especially if you are working out on top of it, could that be why you aren't losing like you want to?

Just a thought....I may be WAY off base here but wanted to mention it.

Christie - I hope you feel much better soon.

Shanna - I hope you get some more rest today.

Not much happening here. I'm feeling really good this morning. Getting ready to head to the gym for a bit just waiting on a little bit more daylight. I'm debating starting the kick boxing classes that our gym offers. The trainer that runs it is who did my body analysis the other day and she said it's a multi level group and that sounds fun. I've been debating taking tae kwon do classes but we don't really have the extra money for that right now so I was way excited when she mentioned kick boxing. I'm way excited. Things are good in my world lately. How are y'all?

Good morning all. Illness is still rampant in my house. My youngest is on a new antibiotic and I have to try to "catch" a urine specimen from a 2year old un pottytrained boy. Shouldn't that be fun!

Job interviews went well yesterday and I hope and pray that I will hear about at least one of the positions by the end of the week.

I've been feeling really down with not working, no money being brought in, etc. I am emotionally exhausted and physically exhausted (from being up multiple times a night with my baby). I'm too old for this crap.

Christie, I hope you start feeling better really soon. I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable.

Melissa,

Good luck catching the urine specimen...been there done that and it's not fun.  The girls' doctor usually gave me those urine bags that stick to their groin area and it catches the urine for you (they wear it under their diaper).  Did your doctor not give you one of those??  If not, you should call the doctor's office and see if you can go get one....I can't imagine trying to catch urine without one if the child isn't potty trained!!

Good to hear.  I don't think it's cheating to use the urine bag...heck I don't know how you would do it if you didn't!  What mother has enough time on her hands to follow a 2 yr old around with a cup all day waiting for them to get the urge to pee?  We all know typical kids would wait until that split second that it took for you to answer a phone or something and they would have run off an peed on the floor somewhere!

Even with the bags my girls always held their urine.  They hated those bags and as soon as we put one on they would hold it for hours before they finally went.  It's so much easier now that their potty trained!

Best of luck on the test results. If you don't mind me asking...are they worried he has a UTI or is this a sibling screen relating to his brother's urology appointment?  You don't have to answer if you don't want to.  I was just curious.

No big deal answering your questions. Joshua (the older one) saw the urologist and is having a circ revision. Zach's issues are different. He's been sick x 8 days with temps up to 102 consistently. We can't find a cause for the fevers so he wanted to check the urine just to be on the safe side.
