Can we have all beef fat free Ball Park franks?

They are 0 fat, 50 calories, and I forget but pretty high in protein.  I know hot dogs are on a "no" list, and I can see why for regular ones, but since Ball Park makes the fat free ones, it would be a way I could have something during a family cookout.

Just wondering....

Christie, I have had one of those at a cookout recently.  I know its not "ideal" for us.
But its one of the healthier things that I could find to share with my kids in the situation.

I also have recently taken a chicken breast to a cookout at my Dad's and put it in foil with some seasonings.  It kept it moist enough for me to eat it without problems and it was yummy.

Happy grilling season!

Huge hugs,

Christie, I'm glad you asked this questions as I have been hungry for a hotdog on the grill too. What about turkey dogs? I haven't looked at the nutritional info yet, just wondering.

I am with you a hotdog on the grill sound wonderful, but I was told why we are not suppose to have hot dogs is because they are processed meat.  I hope this helps.  I do sometimes have a turkey hotdog, because of them being lower in calories/fat.

I'd say that if you look around and find low fat hot dogs like the ones you mentioned and you don't make a habit of it, you can have one.  I am not a big hot dog fan.  You might look at Hebrew Nationals b/c they are all beef and less processed, I think.  I tried them and let's just say my dogs love them.  But I am a picky eater.

Christie,

I get the Oscar Mayer Fat-free hot dogs. They're 40 cal. each. I talkd with the dietician at Mayo about them. They are on my no-no list too. What she had said was with them being so low in calories, but good on the protein side, they wouldn't hurt me to have them sometimes...but skipping the buns is a good idea. No problem there.

thanks for the info ladies!

DH and son got into them last night and roasted them over our fire pit.  I didn't have any - I'm glad, because they said they were disgusting.

Funny how it took eating the entire package between the two of them before they figured out they didn't taste good....
