Had a hard time finding a psychologist
I had the worst trouble trying to find a psychologist that would do the bariatric evaluation and a mmpi test to go with it. I have insurance through United and there weren't a ton of people to choose from in the first place.
I swear I probably called 30 doctors before some very sweet lady gave me another doctors name and told me to try him. Thank goodness he is able to do both things for me. Though I'm pretty scared of this test. I hope it doesn't say I'm insane
If anyone needs someone that will do both tests for St Francis and they have United Insurance try calling Dr Raymond Horn. What a mess!

Sorry you had such a problem. I also have United and that was not my experience so things must have changed in the past few months.
The test really doesn't test you to see if you are insane it tests you to see consistancy so if you are honest during the test it will be a breeze because your answers will be consistant. Besides, its not a pass/fail test it will determin if you are mentally prepared for the changes about to take place in your life or if you need a bit of therapy to help you prepare before surgery..which you will have time to get in before your date anyway so relax this is the easiest part of the process.
When I took this test years ago while trying to have surgery the questions were like this...
Does the color blue offend you?
Do you like the color blue?
Do you hate the color blue?
The questions will be all mixed up and about 500 questions long but you can see if your honest its a breeze.
