Ellen...

I wanted to let you all know that Ellen seemed to be doing ok yesterday at Nick's visitation. Today, was a little harder on her..and extremely hard on Dana. Please continue to keep them and the rest of their family...and their town...in your prayers. Young Nick had touched many, many lives. I would guess that there were probably over 500 people to come to the services yesterday and I would guess that there was over 200 there today. As I said, Nick's life..and death, had touched many.

Nick had wanted to be a fireman. The rules state that you have to wait until you are 21. Nick would had been 21 on May 20th...which also happens to be my birthday. Nick's dad & grandfather were both firemen so he grew up with that dedication being strong. He had taken many courses and all the firemen and police in the surrounding communities knew and loved Nick. They were waiting for the day when Nick could be 'one of their own'. Today, Nick was honored by having the fireman's badge pinned on his lapel in the fireman's code of doing things...by his father. When Nick was young, he had pinned his father's badge on him which is customary if you have a son..otherwise, the honor goes to the father of the new fireman.

Although I didn't know Nick well, I feel that I did through Ellen. Ellen has been like a sister to me for several years now. When I was in the coma...the hospital would only give information to 'family'. Ellen told them she was my sister so they did give her an update. She did not lie as far as our hearts are concerned. She will always be my sister...and Nick will always feel like a nephew in my heart....

Thank you for updating on Ellen and family as well as friends of Nick. My heart goes out to all. I love you & my OH family very much. Such a sad loss for anyone.

Hugs and prayers for all those he left behind.....at times like this just words and nothing really to help....prayers for those with this struggle and pain.....

I have tried a few times to reply and for some reason it is not showing up...heck if i know.....but I have been here, just can not reply...hoping this one goes through.....
