One down and one to go.
My wife had her RNY on Tuesday morning and did great. She was only in the O.R. for about one hour and fifteen minutes. She's had no complications so far and we hope to keep it that way. While she was on the bariatric unit she walked six miles post-op. She said that her pain level never got higher than a 5 out of 10. The staff at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital were great. They treated both of us very well. Dr. Inman did an awesome job. Kudos to all concerned.
The post-op nutrition schedule is a little overwhelming but it's only the first day home and I know that we will get the hang of it. We copied a schedule from someone on another post and that's been a huge help. It really made it easier.
I go for my pre-op testing on Monday the 13th. If all goes well I'll be having my RNY on April, 22nd. I'm really looking forward to having this done. I want to get on with my new life. My wife was scared and had a lot of anxiety as this was her first surgery. I've no anxiety or nervousness. I know that everything will be fine.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and concern. To the "losers" thank you for leading the way and sharing your knowledge. To the "Newbies" hang in there and have faith. There are a lot of people in your corner and you don't have to go through it alone.
Sincerely,
Duane and Alisica
