I'm so glad the wait is over, I have been trying to get approved since Jan.2008. I had to do the six month diet twice, I was a smoker and my bariatric surgeon told me I had t quit smoking two months before surgery so i did, got help with my doctor, then I got a letter from my insurance company stating that I need to have quit smoking six months before surgery so i had to wait another 4 months. Then I got a call from my isurance co. yesterday saying everything is good and I have been approved.

Good for you!!! I bet you've come close to reducing the size of your liver needed just by jumping thru those hoops!!!  People usually give up... Glad you didnt and you will be glad you didnt too when you get past your first 6 weeks..or so

HURRAH!!! Congratulations!!! The waiting for approval has to be the worst part.  It took me from July to March to get approved. I got approved on March 11th, had my surgery date on March 12th and time has been flying since....I have surgery April 20th! Good Luck!

I am proud of you for quitting the smoking.  It will be so important for you in the long run.  And now that you are approved the rest will fly by and you will be on the loser's bench soon.

I am happy for you.  Keep us informed!  I look forward to watching your progress along your journey!
