My "spasm" problems--Saw my surgeon today!
Today I had an appointment to meet with Dr. Inman at 3:10. May I add, I was in the back by 3:15! (That's a first!)
So I told her all the pain I was having and that it really has started since my gallbladder removal and back surgery. She thinks it is to do with my "Spinchter Oddie" (sp???). The liver produces gile and since the gallbladder isn't there anymore in backs up into my old stomach bottom and the spinchter muscle is spazzzing from it. So I am going to have to get a g-tube put into my old stomach for 4 weeks making a hole for the instrument to do a ERCP test. Then possibly the g-tube can be removed or it may have to stay for another 4 weeks depending on the test.. If they find that the spinchter muscle is spazzing during the test, they will clip it and that should take care of the pain. If it doesn't they will do a little exploratory while they are in there looking for the cause. Outpatient surgery and it will be over and done. Of course I don't look forward to the g-tube. Not sure how my clothes will fit over that thing! Especially since I usually wear form fitting clothing! Very interesting!
I've been doing WW to get off the final pounds. It has been so hard! I have been counting my points and following the plan to the letter. I have lost only 3 lbs in 5 weeks! I want it to go off FASTER! UUUUggggHHHH! Patience is not a long suite of mine!
Well, I wanted to let you all know my update. It is actually a complication of the gallbladder removal and not the WLS! This will be interesting next few months.
I'm off to see Ellen and Dana
Blessings,

Best wishes for a solution to the issue. I hope the G tube isnt in long and you heal right up.
Huge hugs,
Tracy

And hopefully they can take care of the Sphincter of Odie thing and get rid of your pain, that would make the hassle of the g-tube worth it.
Good Luck!
