Hi Melissa!!!
Welcome to you and all the newbies!!!    This is a great grp of ppl here and an awesome support system.  You will LOVE it here... pull up a and make yourself @ home.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about saying you are dreading the preop tests.  My surgery is scheduled for 05/04/09 and my preop tests are 04/21 (the day after your surgery).  My insurance had a clause about not covering WLS and I was lucky enough to get them to cover it... no fights, no arguments, no appeals, etc.  Now I am totally afraid that something's gonna pop up in my preop and they are gonna say "wait a minute, hold it, hold it!"  So I think how you are feeling must be normal, I was glad to see that someone else was feeling the way I was also.  Phewwwwwwww!!! I'm NOT insane!!! yay!!!!   i'm doin' the "happy dance"

everything will work out, god hasn't sent us this far for nothing sweetie!!! it'll be OK!

plus dr evanson...........girl!!!
he is one cute@ doctor!!!
LOL!!!!

glad you and everyone else could join us!

LOL! Yes...he is a cutie!

If the insurance does pop up and say...oops....tell them that under state law they are REQUIRED to pay for your surgery...

My husband found the law that was passed in Indiana that insurance companies HAVE to pay for the surgery but there are certain situations that apply.  You should be able to find it either on Indiana.gov or just google the code: IC 27-8-14.1

Hope this helps someone!

Welcome to the boards Melissa, Dunane and Mrs.  its really nice to have you all.

I worried myself sick about all the preop testing, way more than surgery itself.  Now it seems foolish to have worried lol.  The barium made me most nervous but really its nothing you can't handle and its over quite quickly.  I had my surgery and of course preop testing at St F's but the technicians were real nice and made jokes with me so it helped.  They had a new guy being trained that day so we really cut up with him.  Its more weird than gross or anything, you can do it!

As far as the blood draw goes, just dont look lol.

I just had my pre-op test last week. It was not  bad at all. I found the staff to be kind and well  organized. My surgery is April 15. Good luck to you. You will find your pre-ops go by quickly. Wendy
