Appointment got cancelled today

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  I got a call a few hours ago, changing my dr appt, they said that Dr Huse was not going to be in the office today, so I have another appointment scheduled for Friday at 1:45pm, I made sure that I reminded them it was Good Friday.  It actually works out better this way I do not have to take time off from work.  We get 1/2 day for Good Friday, we are hoping to have the whole day off since the University is now closed for the whole day.

Update on my brother Bruce:  His WLS surgeon came by and checked things out this morning, they believe that his bleeding ulcer is because he took some ibuprophen a few days ago.  I do not recall every being told not to take ibuprophen, I take an asprin a day.  I think I will speak with Dr Huse when I talk to him on Friday.  They are keeping Bruce in the hospital today to make sure that they have got all the bleeding stopped and that he doesn't need another transfusion.  He seem to be in good spirit.  Thanks again everyone for the prayers.

I am praying for your brother.  I was told no NSAIDS, whi*****ludes ibuprofen.  Most list ulcers and other gastric maladies as possible side effects.

I was told Tylenol, no ibuprofen. I am sorry to hear that this is happening to your brother. I will also pray that all goes well with your dr appt.

I'm glad your brother is okay.

I was told I could take ibuprofen sparingly if I absolutely positively need it and this makes me double think that definitely since I've had an ulcer already.

Hey, its good to hear your brother is doing better.  I will keep him in my prayers.

I was gonna text ya and ask ya if you needed a co-pilot for your doc appt.  I almost waited too long.  LOL.... so if you need me just for the company, let me know.

HI Peggy----I was leaving home at 10 today because I had a 1:45 appt with Dr Huse.  I was leaving early to stop by Sabrena's salon to get my manicure and pedicure and was looking so forward to it.  At 9:40 they called and cancelled--that is after I had 2 people already here to stay with Lyn today so I know the Grrrrrrrrrrrrr feeling.  So I had to cancel my pampering day with Sabrena and my dietician and Dr appt.I did go ahead and go to Bloomington since my daughter Candi and Mom were here to watch Lyn so I did get out.We couldn've done lunch if we would have known about eachothers appts and if they didn't get cancelled!Dr Huse kept me on my Celebrex when I was post op then I stopped it on my own but also said I could take occasional Ibuprophen for pain when I left the hospital.  He said they have changed their outlook some on drugs like the NSAIDS and Celebrex.Terry

Be careful if take these drugs. NSAIDS may give you an ulcer. What Celbrex did to me though was given me bouts of diarrhea...that is blood.Scrared me like crazy!

So...be careful with them. I got hold of the doctor ASAP and was taken off of them right away.

Thanks Sherri---I have just taken about 4 ibuprophen since surgery and actually stopped taking my Celebrex about 2 weeks post op and have done fine with the arthritis not taking it.  I have taken Tylenol and plan to make that my choice.  I was just surprised about the Celebrex being ok.

Terry

When did they reschedule your appointment, I would love to meet for lunch.  If it is Friday, mine is at 1:45 and I just text Tracy to be my copilot, so maybe we all could meet for lunch.  I am hoping that I do not have to work at all, if I do then I will be getting off work at noon.

Hugs
