ANTHEM

well i am so confused and bewildered this morning. Last Friday i got word from my surgeons office that i WAS approved for surgery in May. Celebrate! Celebrate! and all that good jazz...well i get home last night and a letter from good old ANTHEM that i was NOT approved due to the fact when my surgeons office sent my info to them apparently didnt send my Psychological Assessment...........which i had done 030209 and he okd me. Now im awaiting call from the Surgeons office on this situation and why would they say YES i was and then ANTHEM says no....?????Having a Rant and Rave this morning and noat even 8am!  

This is a frustrating process. Hang in there though, it is WELL worth the wait. Jana

thankfully ANTHEM was still open when i called and they gave me a phone # for surgeons office to call...Jana?? is that your name? that is my wifes name also. You dont hear that name very often at all.. 

Your docs office will have the final notification. Perhaps they got the deniel first and then faxed the info over to Anthem. That letter you got from Anthem was probably generated before they talked to your surgeons office. It will be ok, if the docs office said you were approved then its probably just a matter of that not being communicated to you by another letter that Anthem will send.

I had had smooth sailing until thi**** Hopefully ill have an answer here today when Surgeons Office Calls me. When i talked to the gal at Anthem, she said as the letter said DENIED due to Pschological wasnt there. thanks for support!

I had Cigna at the time of my surgery and they denied me the first time too because Amy at St. V's hadn't waited to get the referrel letter from my family doc. She was anxious to send off my information and didn't wait for the referrel. So, they came back saying I was denied pending the referrel letter. She sent it right off and they accepted and approved me.

well i will await the call from Evansons office to see maybe this was the case...HOPE SO....

on the bright side of it, the denial was for something that can be sent right over to them and it will all be fixed.  At least they didnt say for a 6 month assessment with a trainer and dietian or anything.  Hang in there, it will be approved before you know it.
