I HAVE A DATE!

My surgeons office just called and ANTHEM approved and surgery will be MAY 20th 1pm at ST VINCENT CARMEL. i am happy and scared at the same time but more knowing that i will become healthier and have health issues under control.

Congrats!  It will be here before you know it!  Dr. Evanson is the greatest!

Congrats on getting a date. Like Christie said it will be here before you know it. Try not to get nervous while waiting.

i talked to Anthem this morning on another situation and they said that my case was still being reviewed. Two hours later i got this call from my surgeons office and she stated i had been approved! Beats me! Someone must have moved the file..ha ha

Yea Right! on running....pulling our morphine tanks along as we lapp..ha ha

Congrats on getting your date Alaskaman and your approval, Pam.  Hey I make a good flagwoman. Pick me!  LOL  I've even had experience.  Remember West Side Story where the gal holds up the white hankie and the two guys took off in a heated drag race?  I actually got to do something just like that a couple years ago.  I went to a Nat'l drag race and in the evening everybody went cruising out on the city street with their cool cars and having little mini drag races in the street. There were hundreds of them on this long stretch of roadway.     

I grabbed this white hankie and as they revvvved up their engines.......I dropped the hankie and off they went, 2 by 2.    It was the most spontaneous and fun thrilled thing I've ever done in my life, that is until the we heard the sirens of the cops and they showed up and spoiled all our fun. 

I could finally DO something mischievous and NOT get grounded by mom anymore.  I could never get by with the least little thing.  OMG I would have never even considered doing something like that when I weighed 350#. My nickname was the "hankie lady" that week-end. 

I was so excited to come home and share this story with my mom.  I was all bubbly and exhilerated about my week-end and how uninhibited I was in being the "hankie Lady". My mom's response was that I was just showing off.  It just broke my heart and she made me feel ashamed.  Then I decided that I wasn't going to let her steal my joy and I didn't do anything to be ashamed of.  I've realized she's jealous of me.

So when you least expect it, I'll be pulling out my white hankie in the wings of the bariatric halls....ready, set, go.
