I am kinda wondering how long the wait will be for my surgery after I am officially approved on paper????  I know every case is different, I would just like to hear from some of you about how long you had to wait for your surgery date after you received you approval letter???

Thanks in advance all!!!

Pam, Wendy is right that once you have approval and have your surgery date, then you schedule your preop testing and your preop class. I think everyone varies on how long from approval to surgery, based on who your surgeon is. I've seen it as quick as a couple of weeks to a month or two. I got my approval mid november and surgery was scheduled Dec 17th.

Pam,  I got my approval and with in a week I had everything scheduled.  First we did pre-op testing which came 2 weeks after the approval.  Then it was my pre-surgery class about nutrition about a week after testing and then my surgery the week after that.  It was a total of a month from approval to surgery date.  So I would say you will probably be in by early May.  Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.  It's truly a whirlwind once you get the green flag!

I am so excited for you!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Mine was about a month too from approval to surgery. I had the factor of having to drive almost 2 hours for the appointments, preop tests and nutrician class. I had to schedule the days off work and still in all of that, it only took about a month.
Good Luck, I am so happy for you.

I am scheduled for April 15, about one month after my approval letter. I will have pre-ops April 1 and nutritional class April 2nd. I am using this time to wean off of caffein, exercise and increase protein. I want to be in as good as health as possible. It is getting exciting. I think of events planned for this summer and know I will be thinner. I will be flying in July. I am happy that the seat will be more comfortable After the approval letter, things move pretty fast. Best of luck. Wendy
