Mayo Update:

I talked with Dr. Mangan. He wasn't surprised to learn that I was still having some distension. The first initial days seemed positive but for the past 3 days, it's been inching back up there. This morning, I had distended 2" within 3 hours of being awake. He also wasn't surprised to learn that the diarhea is back in full force.

He said that when I had the endo, they had aspirated some of my digestive fluids. It showed I had a bacterial infection & he called me in an antibiotic. Here's the thing...this is like the 6th script of antibiotics that I've been on for intestinal bacteria in the last 18 months!!! I am beginning to wonder if I don't have some super-duper bacteria that just is not getting taken care of! At least, this is the first time I've been on this particular antibiotic. I'll go by and pick it up after work tomorrow. Dr. Mangan told me to go ahead and continue the enzymes FOR NOW..but that I probably will not be staying on them. I guess he thought it wouldn't hurt for me to get a little bit of digestion help. I am to call him back when I've completed the antibiotics...so...ten days.

I thought what they aspirated would had showed what my enzyme levels were at but he didn't mention them...so...I don't know if those were off or not.

If my stomach is like it is now tomorrow, I will be putting myself back on the anti-spasm pills. It's almost like my body was thrilled for the digestion help...but....since that wasn't the total problem kinda got over that happiness really quick. If I'm hurting again in the morning, I'll also resume the pain meds if I need to. Fortunately, I have been able to make it through the day without either one though! Yay!

Please continue the prayers...I don't think we are quite at a solution just yet.

I was so hoping that they could answer all your problems while you were there at Mayo. This has to be beyond frustrating for you.  Know that you are being thought of and in my prayers.  There has to be an answer out there somewhere. Finding it is the hard part. Like your quote says on your signature... you are still in the hallway!!  LOL

Blessings to you all, Leah

So sorry to hear that your symptoms are worsening again.  I hope that this antibiotic does some good.  Take what meds you need to get through the day though.  There is no point in being more uncomfortable than you must.

Good luck, I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

Sherri,

You have been so patient throughout this ordeal. Even though you've not had a smooth road, you've been helpful and positive to people starting and working on the journey. Of course we will continue prayers for you. (((((hugs)))))

Sherri, My prayers are still with you.  I am sure that you will probably end up at Mayo again but keep the faith.  They will find the answer.  They don't just give up on you.  So, remember we won't give up on you either.  We are all gonna keep on praying!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Sherri, this has to be so frustrating for you.  Mayo has excellent Dr. and I have faith that they are going to solve this issue for you.  It's the process of elimination....no pun intended.....ruling things out that the Dr. will come up with a treatment plan for you.  My prayers are with you.  I am going to send you a PM too.  Give me some time to get it done.

Big hugs,
Kathy
