Lyn update

I have been without internet access at the hospital and home since last week so I haven't been able to update.

Lyn was transferred to the VA hospital last Tuesday in order to be evaluated there so that he could be transferred home.  They had a plastic surgeon debride, (clean out) his wound (bedsore) and it is down to the bone.  Poor guy, I can almost get my fist down in it.

We went home Friday night, the ambulance brought him about 11pm.  Saturday morning his temp was over 101 and yesterday it was 102.7 plus his feeding tube wasn't working well so I called the ambulance and they brought him back to VA.  They said he has a big infection going on and they were not surprised at all with all the potential places he has for infection--wound, lungs and urine plus PICC line site.  He really looks sick this time.  It is really worrying me.  THey also said he may need time in a nursing home just for the wound care until it is healed a little more so a Dr is present and can manage it on a daily basis.  I don't want that but I will see what they say at D/C.

It was very hard at home but we were making it and I am sure he knew he was there.  Hopefully I can take him back.  It was taking 4 people to move him though due to his size and inability to move at all himself.  They said there was a 2 or 3 % he would get better mentally.

Please continue prayers--I am really worrying about infection taking open especially since the bone is exposed.  They said he will be at VA at least a week.

I have not had time to read any posts on here so I am praying all is well--hope things went well for you Sherri and for everyone else having struggles.

Love Terry

Know that you and Lyn are in my thoughts and prayers!!  I bet it was good for him to be home. That had to be comforting to him.  I know it would be worrisome for the wounds and infection(s).  Hopefully he will be able to be back home soon.
(((HUGSSS)))
Blessings to you all, Leah

God Speed to Lyn, Terry. I'm so sorry you are going through all of that. That infection can be a vicious thing. All my prayers for you and for him to have a complete recovery.
I don't really know anything about his situation but, it sounds like you both have a lot to deal with.
Bless You
Be Well  : )

Terry, I have been praying for you and Lyn. I'm sorry he wasn't home longer. I am also very sad to hear about his bedsore. I will pray that whatever infection he has brewing clears up quickly and he can return home. Hang in there!!
