Happy Monday

Monday morning again, where did the weekend go?  Worked Saturday and was so tired I came home and crashed on the couch for almost two hours.  I forgot about the fund raiser at Brenda and Floyd’s church, went with the kids over to friend’s home for dinner and dominoes.  Did have a lot of fun.  Yesterday of course was church and went to visit Nan.  She is doing pretty well, but right now suffering from sciatica so can’t do her PT.

My son left for two weeks of training in Maryland yesterday so it’s just us girls now.  This is the first time he has been gone away from his family for this long.  My DIL and granddaughter cried for over an hour after he left.   I just keep praying for a safe trip and return home.

Not a lot going on today, work some OT then home and fix dinner.  Probably bed will be early tonight.  I didn’t’ want to roll out this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all...

I had already arranged to take today off. Since I call the Mayo doctor back tomorrow, I'm taking it off too. I think that's a good thing. I've quit taking all of the anti-spasm & pain meds..haven't had any since Friday. After I eat, my intestines kinda go nuts for about an hour. Yesterday wasn't as bad as Saturday. I'm hoping that by the time Wednesday gets here, my intestines will be use to the enzymes and behave themself. I can't lay down for an hour after each meal at work. I haven't broke down and taken any of the spasm or pain meds so I'm proud of myself. Other than that hour following meals, they really haven't been too bad to deal with.

I went to Methodist yesterday and saw my grandson, Rodney Jr. I don't know if the pediatrician is thinking that it's bad asthma or what. They don't have him on any antibiotics. They tested him for RSV and it was negative. They are giving him breathing treatments every 3 hours with double strength meds. Saturday night, they had to have him on oxygen for awhile. Yesterday, he didn't keep down breakfast and gagged on lunch. I haven't gotten a supper update yet. Poor little guy. He's 3..but he's about the size of an 18 month old. He absolutely hates the breathing treatments and he isn't too fond of all the monitors either. Yes, he's a mamaw's boy.

I hope you all have a good day today...

Sherri,
Is he the little guy you were carrying at the bowlathon?  He's a cutie, hope he feels better soon.

Does each day get better with the enzymes and your intestines?  Not taking the spasm and pain meds is a good thing right?  Or do you need them, just not taking them?  I hope the pills do the trick for you so you don't need the spasm/pain meds and you can get back to "normal".

Julie,

Yes, Rodney Jr was at the bowlathon..on my lap most of the time...lol.

If the enzymes do what they are suppose to, I shouldn't need the anti-spasm med or the pain meds. I wanted to be sure that the enzymes took care of these two issues before I talk with the Mayo doctor tomorrow. So far, they've been doing a pretty good job with the exception of me feeling like crap for that first hour after eating. I do think they are doing some good though. Yay! I'll be happy to talk with the doc tomorrow though and see if his tests confirmed this. I'm just a data-driven person. Oh...I think one of the wounds on my stomach has gotten smaller! Woo-hoo! I can't tell alot of difference yet with the 2nd one yet but it's the bigger diameter one of the two. I've had these openings since March 2008 so that is a VERY big deal to me. It's also an indication that the distension has gone down since that is what was keeping the wounds opened up.

Sherri its so great to hear things are improving for you!  It must be so great to finally have some hope.

I am so sorry to hear your lil grandson is ill.  Its so hard to watch when they are so small.  I hope he is on the mend soon and will get to come home.  My prayers continue to be with you and lil Rodney.

Good morning my fellow hoosier losers, its been awhile since I have been able to post on the daily thread.  Thought I should bring you up to speed on things.  My grandpa is now bed ridden and in his last stage of life, he is tugging at his clothes and groaning, fitgiting, molting skin and apnea all signs that say he has hours to days left.  I had to call his brothers and sisters on Saturday night so they are all coming home, hopefully they will get here in time.  We were able to get things arranged with hospice on Friday so that my grandma now has lots of help.  One of the nurses has been there both Sat and Sun to bathe him and change his bed clothes.  Only nine days ago he was sitting up having a conversation with me and my husband about the new floor he had installed in his house, so things are progressing quite quickly.  My grandpa has been saved and knows he will be in heaven so we all have comfort in knowing he will be with the lord.  Its hard to say goodbye, but its selfish not to he is so sick so I have the peace I need to get through this time.  I appreciate your prayers that God's will be done without too much suffering.
