Day 5: Solid Protein
Protein Recommendations: white meat poultry cooked dry and lightly seasoned, beef steak

(if tolerated) grilled or broiled.

Remember to chew chew chew. Measure your portion (4-6 ounces) and eat only until you feel your pouch tighten. Remember, only 15 minutes per meal, so you'll have to work fast to chew your food completely. By now you should be out of any carb cycle you were in and perhaps you have lost a pound or two. You will have new confidence in your pouch and your ability to work the tool for your health and emotional well being.

So how is everyone doing?

Robin

Don't go hungry! Remember, you can eat as often as you want as long as it is solid protein, consumed without liquids and measured in 4-6 ounce portions.

Hi Robin,
You look amazing!! Congratulations!! I haven't seen you since before you had surgery.
I didn't do the 5 day pouch test with all of you, too much stress this week to take that on.  I did use your challenge though to make some interesting changes.  I don't think I have lost any weight but I do feel better.  I upped my protein by 50% each day, upped my water by an extra 20 oz and cut out quite a bit of my snacking.  Hopefully I broke the carb cravings.  I hope to do the pouch test at a later time, maybe others will be ready to do it then, but for now, I am proud of my week, and hopefully I can maintain the changes.

Thanks for your posts and it was fun to read the comments as you all started the first days!!

Hope to see you soon,
~Bev

Robin,

Really enjoyed spending time with you and Shanna last night.  We should do it more often.  Bet they haven't sold that much cottage cheese all at once.  lol

I'm so glad we're almost on Day 5, but it's been good this week.  I've lost 5 pounds and it has really gotten me back on track.  I cussed at the tv when I saw someone eating popcorn.  I wanted some too.  lol

Yeah!!  Day 5. It has been great this week because I upped my protein and WOW do I feel some energy this week. I have had some situations this week but have stayed true to the program and I find that once I started eating meat I can only eat half as much as before to get me full. That has quite amazed me. I guess by doing this I've learned to listen to my pouch again when it tells me its full. I wasn't eating alot but now I'm back to eating about 2-3 oz of meat instead of 4-6 at one sitting. I weighed today also and I've taken off 4 lbs!!!  YIPEE... Thanks for motivating me to do this Robin.
I feel great!!
Happy Friday all. Have a good weekend.
Be Well  : )
