Hey Jo,
Been there, done that.    #1   When I was young and stupid I tried to cut frozen chicken with a sharp knife and sliced a piece of my finger off and got stitches in it.  But I lost the piece of finger.  The ends of your fingers don't numb well because that where all your nerve endings are.

          I guess I am starting a thread: 3 stupidest things I've done!

My son got me a new set of knives for Christmas that I have to hand wash.  It is sooooo easy to cut myself with them things and I have about 3 times already but only band-aid cuts, thank God.
#2  Another really stupid thing I did was bake those sticky buns in my oven that have the sticky, carmel icing on the top.  I was bare footed when I took them out of the oven.  They were in a muffin pan and I was taking each one out of the muffin pan and one of them fell off the counter and landed upside down on the instep of my foot and gave me a second degree burn!  That icing stuck to my foot like glue and burned me soooo bad.  Couldn't wear a shoe for several weeks while it healed.
#3 the third stupidest thing I did was in home ec class in high school, I ran a sewing machine needle threw my index finger.  The needle broke off protruding through my finger.  All the girls in class freaked out but I just stared at it.  It happened so fast.  I was in shock.
I went to first aid, they gave me a tetnus shot, called the hospital, and they pulled it out.  Yeah, it hurt but was quick.
Glad I'm not young and stupid anymore.  Now I'm old and foolishly happy.
Hugs,
Kathy

I am babysitting the store this am and then heading back home. I worked all day cleaning out stuff, cleaning up stuff, and spent as much time outside as possible! It was gorgeous! I played bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and explored the yard with Braedyn! Cannot believe he will be one next week! Time has flown! Hoping for a pretty day so we can have his party at the park!  Not alot else going on! Plan to make a home depot trip for drywall! Time to finish that attic and get moved up there! Enjoy the weather if you can! Its gonna be another beauty!

LeeAnn, we are just moving things up to our attic today as a matter of fact.  I wanted to fini**** into an extra bedroom but haven't done that yet.  For now it will be storage and I am excited about that!

I'm at work, waiting for my opthalmic surgeon to call me back.

I started having blurred vision in my right eye about 10 days ago.  It's getting worse.  The pupil in my right eye is larger than the left, no longer centered, and is square - not round.

It was always not quite round because of complications during cataract surgery - but it was teardrop shaped.

Now it is square and looks crazy.  The pressure inside my eye is giving me a tremendous headache.  I saw the eye doc last week and he gave me a drop to use twice per day.  Apparently the pressure has caused the vitreous gel to ooze forward and it has hooked onto the pupil, pulling it out of shape.  If it touches the cornea, it can cause scarring and blindness.  The doc wanted to give it 4 weeks, and if not better, referral at that point to a retina specialist.  The pain is worse today - the eye is constantly scratchy and achy, and vision is blurred.  So, I'm waiting for him to call back.  It is possible I will have to have another freakin' eye surgery to have the vitreous removed.  I've already had cataracts removed in both eyes and artificial lenses implanted.

So, needless to say, I've been a slug all week, because I'm going home with bad headaches every night.  Ugh.

Jo, all I can say is OUCH!!

Ellen - I hope that your dear family member's pain is eased, as is the burden on your heart and shoulders.

Tracy - I hope your truck gets fixed!!

Sherri - sometimes the quick fixes work the best!  I am confident that Mayo will cure whatever ails you!  Looking forward to having you back home!

Everyone else - have a great day and enjoy this weather!
