WhooHOOOhoo!!!! One week smoke free!!!
Yay!!!!
I am soooooooo excited....one week smoke free!!!!
I did it cold turkey and there are times when I think..boy I'd love one, but then I think about the fact that I have been ____ days smoke free, or that my office, my clothes and my vehicle are still trying to recoop the same way my body is.
Sorry, I am just happy and wanted to shout it from the roof tops!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/party4.gif)

I quit cold turkey two years ago after smoking for 30 years. Kudos to you! I know what your going through. I was so ready to be smoke free but really had to fight the cravings. There are times still when someone lights up that it smells good, but I will never smoke again!

33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Way to go Pam! I have been smoke free since 1:15 PM on October 29, 2008, the day I got the call telling me when my surgery would be!
I had smoked for 36 years, and I just stopped - just like that. I didn't think that would ever be possible!! I just had to decide which I wanted more - the cigarette or the surgery. It was no contest.
My clothes no longer smell, and neither does my new car which has never been smoked in!!
Now, that's not to say that I don't want to - there's times when I really crave one - especially since I can't soothe myself with food any longer, and don't dare have a Margarita. However, I know one drag would hook me back in again, and I am saving so much money!
Give me a shout if you have a hard time getting past the craving - I'll help you out!

Your question about menopause is a good one. I hope someone replys. I am a meno babe myself. Most of my weight gain occured at menopause. Mine was surgical. I also stopped smoking on the day of my hysterectomy. I quit in 2000 and in fact hate the smell. You can do it. I carried a water bottle with me. That helped with the hand to mouth thing. I also changed whatever triggered a desire for a cig. I enjoyed my morning smoke, so I quit sitting at the kitchen table in the morning and sat in the living room instead and watched the news. Whatever works it is well worth it. Have a great day. Wendy
