My Outdoor Monday
Lisa Hutch, I did miss you there, but I know other people that suffer from gout and it is nasty. You take care of yourself and I will come and see you after your surgery in the hospital. I plan to be there the next day. Anyone else having surgery that day?
Dawn you did a wonderful job planning everything and I thank you so much for doing this, even I didn't win any of the raffles. It was nice to get to know you better at Sherry's going away dinner. Also thanks to Peggy for having a extra seat in her van for the trip to Indy. She's a great gal and I hope she gets her surgery approved.
I've been outside all day spring cleaning my small yard and my shed. I got my patio furniture out so I can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the morning, the geese flying over, and watching and listening to all my birds, Mabel, and other critters. God and I have our morning conversations on my patio surrounded by his beauty.
I gave all my bird feeders a good cleaning and hung 2 of my wren houses. I re-arranged my shephards hooks and feeders to accomodate my hummingbird feeders that I will be putting up shortly.
My goldfinches are gold now and some bird are giving out mating call songs. All my birds have been yelling at me all day because I was out in the yard messing with their feeders and cleaning everything up so they just want me to go inside so they can eat. A few will come pretty close but not many.
Hummingbirds come the closest. They are very use to me. They fly around me quite a bit. Last year before I even got the feeder back on the hook they were eating from it while I was still holding it. They are so precious. This year I hope to get them to eat out of my hand.
I tortured my knee's outside today with my bending, stooping, & climbing ladders to hang birddhouses in tree's. My right one hurts really bad so I'm going to go elevate them and put some ice on 'em.
hugs and blessings to everybody,
Kathy

I love waking up to the birds chirping and cant wait to get busy in the yard for the first time in years.
Kathy,
It was so good to meet you on Sunday. You look fantastic and to be so far out, I am jealous that I have slipped back in to some old eating habits and gained a bit of weight back. You must be so disciplined.
I need to get busy and start on my back yard clean up. I never got the landscaping done last summer because of being so busy. I have pavers to put down and decorative stone blocks to build a small wall for a raised flower garden, and I want to get a place ready for a vegetable garden. I can't wait for fresh home grown tomatoes again. They taste so much better than store bought. I love the hummingbirds. When I lived in Arizona, we had a lot of them. I loved watching them. I would take my coffee out on the deck in the mornings and it was just so peaceful with the birds singing and just listening to the sounds of nature. I really miss it sometimes.
You take care of yourself and your knees. Hope they are feeling better today.
Hugs
Julie
I am bummedto to miss my chance to meet you and I am so happy you will be at the hospital the day after my surgery.
I have a tiny wooded area in back of my home with lots of bird feeds, finch feeders, we don't have the hummingbird feeded out yet either. I bought my husband a purple martin birdhouse but we did not get much traffic.
I, like you have a sundeck and a screened in porch off the masterbedroom and I love hearing all the bird activities. I unfortunately have a lot of problems with squirrels, racoons, skunks and coyotes. I think the bird feeders draw some of the pesky little varments.
It feels so good to have spring in the air...having surgery during this time of the year will truly feel like a new life.
