I just found out tonight that there is a support group here in Lafayette, but it is one of the St Vincent ones.  Do you know if they allow people who are patients at other centers to attend?  It is so clse to home and I want to go, but I am a Clarian patient.

Thanks!

In my experience, the support groups are open to the public.  I can't imagine that they would mind you coming especially if your center doesn't have a group near your home.  I would go.  What are they going to do????  Kick you out of SUPPORT GROUP!!!    I know my local group has people from other centers.

I am not officially talking for St. V's but will say they do have a policy of St. V's bariatric patients only/
It is not to cause confusion between the programs.  Each system does differently.  It can easily go to MY PROGRAM says rather then a common path.  It is important for new preops and new post ops to have a consistent message in order to get the most benefit.
I don't want to get in a conversation on which program is better, that is your call and what you are comfortable with.  The important thing to realize is this is a tool that can help but IS NOT the final answer.  YOU CAN and might regain weight after bariatric surgery.  You need to follow the center you choose plan to the letter in order to break habits and be successful.  So put all you can into the facility plan you choose and be a winner for your lifetime.
YOU CAN have problems.  THIS is a serious operation.  PROBLEMS are not in store for everyone but be aware that they exist.  YOU WILL mourn food that you no longer should eat.  YOU WILL complain about the lack of variety to eat at the begining.

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
