RE: My Visit to Seton On Wednesday

I was so happy to get to meet Terry and her handsome husband, Lyn at Seton.  I didn't recognize Terry because she doesn't look anything like her avitar picture on here.  She is a cute little thing, much thinner with shorter hair.  She is doing great with her weight loss.  And her love and affection for Lyn is quite obvious.

I held Lyn's hand and gave it a big squeeze for everybody.  I was looking so forward to seeing those big sexy brown eyes of his, but he was just snoozing away that day.  Hopefully next time I visit.

Terry and I had a really nice visit and got to know each other better.  We have a few things in common Terry.....a positive attitude, Faith in God, and never say I can't.

Terry is pretty sure that Dr. Tim Glass, my VBGB Dr, who is now a general surgeon, did one of Lyn's recent surgeries.  Terry really liked him alot and we showed 1 of the nurses a picture of me with Dr. Glass before and after my VBGB.  The nurse was so grateful to meet a bari patient that is over 8 yrs. out and doing well with no major problems since the only bari patients they see are with ICU complications.

You and Lyn have a special place in my heart and I'm sending big hugs and love to both of you.

Terry went with me to visit Carole Dale in room 241.  Carole daughter Elizabeth is still always by her side and is sleeping in the chair in her room.  She has done this for at least a month now and has taken leave from her job.

Carole had good news and bad news.  Good news-she is off the dialysis and she has a smaller trach.  She has good color and is talking pretty good.  Bad news- She has a fistula in her bowel, which is like an abnormal passage that developed in the bowel wall that came to the surface of her skin like an open wound.

She has a large bag attached to her tummy like a colostomy bag but 5 times larger, (I know because I used to have one) and the raw stool empties into that and into a catheter continuously.  Her bowel is on complete rest until it heals which means she can't eat or drink anything by mouth.  So she has the Pic line again and is getting nourishment thru that.  No feeding tube yet.

Carole is a strong woman and is continuing to fight this.  I've never heard her complain or say "Why me?"  She just keeps forging ahead and giving it everything she can give it.

Continue to pray for all of them.

hugs,
Kathy

Thanks for the update on Lyn.   I have to agree Terry is a very special girl.  She does need a new avatar picture.  She looks amazing!

I am sorry you didn't get to see his big brown eyes.  They melt your heart for sure.

Thanks for the update on Carole too.

Huge hugs,
Tracy
