3 questions for Wednesday
topic: hitting the lottery
1. What would be your impulse purchase if you won the big lottery for millions of dollars?
My first purchase would probably be a vacation to get away and think about what I really wanted to do with my new money.
2. Who would you donate money to or assist with expenses in their lives?
I would put up the money to start a new foundation to help raise money for people who need WLS but do not have insurance to cover it. I would love it if everyone who needs the surgery for serious medical conditions could have the surgery! Not having an insurance to cover it is sad when it is so necessary! I would also donate to missions at our church. Living expenses, I would probably say I would pay each of my siblings mortgages and set my children each up with a nice home and give them a great boost in life.
3. How would you spend the bulk of the money long-term?
I would probably purchase a "summer" home on Isla Roatan Honduras and then purchase an RV to travel around the country here. I would definately buy a bigger house and a new vehicle. And I KNOW I would have plastics!!! I dont know that I would go with an elaborate lifestyle but I would sure enjoy being financially free.
1. What would be your impulse purchase if you won the big lottery for millions of dollars?
Impulse? Seriously haven't we ALL thought about what we do first? LOL
2. Who would you donate money to or assist with expenses in their lives?
I would stop at little churches all over the state - if I was welcomed then I would drop money in the plate if not...then I'd keep going.
Several places in Indiana have people who are without food and I would do some donating there.
3. How would you spend the bulk of the money long-term?
I would set myself up as a corporation with family on the board and we'd have several board meetings throughout the year, in different locations, and the business would pay for all the travel expenses

I would pay off all my bills, put 40% into savings for taxes, and then go check out the newest Durango's.
2. Who would you donate money to or assist with expenses in their lives?
I know there are alot of people needing assistance out there, but the first ones I would help would be my daughter & son. That's just the mom in me. I'd pay off all of their bills so they could have a clean credit slate...and then...see question 3.
I would also set up a fund to help my friends when emergencies happen or when they are in the hospital, etc to help with the expenses that they were surprised by.
3. How would you spend the bulk of the money long-term?
I would have to think of a company that I could put my heart into. But..it would have to be something that is do-able in the south-west because if I were rich? No way would I be here in Indiana freezing my tush off! I would move my kids there and pay them to operate the company. Bill & I would be the co-CEO's and have the final word on major decisions, but it would be a family operation with them at the helm. Of course, that would probably take a few years because I would first need to pay to send them to college to learn the skills they would need to do a good job.
If I had plenty of $ to invest, I would also loan a friend or two the money to get their business off the ground. It's frustrating to me when I hear a terrific business idea and it goes no where because of lack of capitol! I'd help my girlfriends out, definately!

2. Who would you donate money to or assist with expenses in their live?

To be sure my children would have a education and a trust fund and beens ive done took care of everybody else and bought my farm house i would put it away and save.

Thanks Tracy it helps to be able to dream and someday one of us will win.....
2) There are so many worthwhile causes I think it would be hard to choose. I do know that I would have a lot of land and a staff to help care for homeless animals.

Well, I don't play the lottery....but if I did:
1. I want a Cadillac Escalade and a trip to Disney World, that would be my impulse buying
2. As with everyone else, I would assist my family first.
3. I would get the counsel of a financial manager, make investments, probably start a couple of businesses.
Jenny
This is an interesting question. One of my co-worker**** $1 M on a scratch off last month. Yes, she is still working!
I would buy a house on Ocean Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC. It is one of my favorite places. Ocean Blvd obviously overlooks the Atlantic.
2. Who would you donate money to or assist with expenses in their lives?
I'd pay off all my debts, then pay off my kids' debts. Set aside money for grandkids' college. I'd probably pay a chunk of change to make sure my folks were taken care of.
3. How would you spend the bulk of the money long-term?
I would buy a Marathon coach RV - one of those big luxury models that cost upwards of $1M. I'd travel around the US. Oh, and did I say I'd quite my job in a NY minute? I'd send the maid in to clean out my desk. On second thought, if I had all that money, I wouldn't want or need anything in my desk. They can keep it!
This is Thursday, but the Wednesday questions are so good I have to answer.
1. Impulse buy?
Probably a top of the line RV, and new cars for the kids and my sister's family.
2. Share money with?
I would definitely pay off my bills, my kids bills, and my sister's bills. Then I would set up college funds for all the kids in the family and extended family. I'd get the church on it's feet, set up a fund to get the Pre-school going again, and hire a Youth Pastor.
3. Spend bulk of money?
I'd give money to my son to start his own business, travel the US first, spending months on the beaches. See if I could fund more Eden alternatives around the country. Fund rescue shelters, missions, and homeless shelters. Oh and get plastics.
What fun to dream!
OK, as usual I'm late but here it goes:
1. Impulse buy: brand new cars for myself and my husband.
2. Donate money to: Family first (but carefully). Then, I'd probably set up a rotation of my favorite causes (breast cancer, animal welfare, and I like Tracy's idea about helping people get wls).
3. Long-term: cautious investments so I could live and travel as I please.
