I'm so tired of hurting

It seems like it just isn't getting better.  I am back to work, a week after my second surgery.  I am so wore out.  My back is hurting since my last surgery and I'm not sure why.  I am so tired when I get off of work.  This sure isn't what I had planned.  My first week after RNY was great.  I was getting my fluid in and protien.  Now I'm not even getting my 3 meals in a day.  Just can't eat.  Well, I've whined enough.  I know it has to get better.  My poor husband has been so good, but I know he worries about me.  Please pray for me and E.  I just wanted so much to be a good example and not happening.  I'll be fine I know.
Love to all.

Awww hon.  I'm so sorry you're having a bad time of it.  You're just a week out from your second surgery - maybe you went back to work too fast.  Perhaps your body needs a little more time to recover.

Get plenty of rest, and let E baby you some.  You deserve it.

And honey, you ARE a good example.

Hugs!

Becky

each day you are going to get stronger and stronger. Just keep your head up. It will get better each day. Is there anyway you can take a 3 day weekend this weekend? My Commandment for you this weekend is rest, rest, and rest!

 Take care

God Bless

Robin

Becky,

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling poorly.  I cannot believe you are back to work so soon after two surgeries.  You are an inspiration, your drive and determination are awesome.  But I think your body is telling you to slow down and rest.

You recently posted something I wrote in my journal as a constant reminder - "Listen to your body", simple, yet profound.

It is easy for me to try to give you advise, I do not have surgery for 2 weeks, but I iwill take your advise and listen to my body.  I initially scheduled 3 weeks off from work and I bumped it to 4 after reading your post.

I will pray that you will feel stronger every day.  Please take care of yourself!

Becky, sweet Sister, your body is talking to you- time to listen!!! It took my body awhile( about 4 weeks- age?? I don't know ,but I needed it) to get over major surgery, & you have had 2 in a VERY SHORT time.
I think the 3 day weekend means just stay home & let yourself rest. I know you aren't a whiner or whimp-NO WAY!!!!
Sweety,  you just need to listen to it, and rest so you can heal. Your job will be ok, & they want you well, too. E is a great guy, I bet he is taaking wonderful care of you& I know he is wanting you strong & healthy, too. There is nothing wrong for taking some "me time" especially when your body is screaming for it.
Love you bunches, praying for you, & here for you.

Becky,

There is no way that you should had gone back to work only one week after that 2nd surgery. That one, was very similar to Brenda's recent one. She has a desk job and she was in the hospital for a week plus I think home for 2 weeks afterwards. You may want to contact your surgeon about more time off..or at least part-time for awhile. As to the pain...I think that should also be expected this soon afterwards. Which..let me guess..they gave you pain meds and you aren't taking them while at work..because of being at work...? It would be better to recoup at home some more and take your pain meds so that your muscles aren't tensing up with every pain....making the pain even worse.

Don't worry so much about getting in the 3 meals. Just concentrate on your protein and water. The lack of being able to eat just kinda goes with the territory of that 2nd surgery I think.

huggs...
Sherri

Becky I completely understand your frustration.  It took me about 4 weeks after my rny to feel descent again.  I remember being so frustrated with my recovery that I wanted to scream.  When I was  early out I would get on the boards and read how others who had  surgery close to me were saying how wonderful they felt in no time and would just want to cry.  I am not sure why some of us have a slower recovery time, but hang in there and know that it will get better, even if it is just a tiny bit better each day.  Keep your chin up and hang in there, one day in the not so distant future this will all be a vauge memory.
