recoop time?

Approximately how long will I be off work with lap band surgery? My job is not physically demanding. I still don't have a surgery date, but have verbal approval by my insurance. I don't know how long it takes to get it in writing to my surgeon. This certainly is an experience I have never had before. It is a learning experience or so I tell myself!

three names that come to mind when I think about the lap band are Jody, LeAnn and Denise.  You may wanna look one of these gals up and ask them.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I think Dr. Gupta would probably tell you ~2-3 weeks...but I'd call her nurse and ask her and be sure to explain the type of work you do. You'll probably want them to fill out FMLA paperwork anyway.

Jessica Saberman on here would be a good source to ask how long to expect to be off. She also had lap band.

I have my band on June 30,2008 and I was out 2 weeks, I felt ready to go back also.

If you havent gotten your answer yet, you might try the lap band board.  They have their own forum.  I am so glad you are posting here, but I dont have an answer for you as I am RNY.  I know I was off 2 weeks with RNY actually 8 work days.   I am/was an accountant.  So you can check with your doctor's office as a good source of information.  Your surgeon may request/require a certain amount of time.
