My hubby got a job!

The company that he was working  for closed its doors last Sept and my husband has been on unemployment and looking frantically since he was let go from them. He worked as a security officer there and then also at our state prison for years. He has always worked OT and brought in good money but, 2 years ago he decided to go back to school to get his CPA. He is a number cruncher and actually has a bit of OCD with numbers so, what better field to get into than Accounting. He has carried a 3.8-3.9 GPA in his online classes at Ivy Tech. For online classes you have to be very disciplined to do the work and he has been. He worked alot of 70-80 hour weeks and still got his homework done. He is now 4 semesters away from getting his BA in Accounting and then he will take the test for CPA but, because he has no real experience and only schooling so, no one would hire him. He just got a call from a company this morning that he interview with on Friday. HE HAS THE JOB!!  They were impressed with his portfolio and the experience is not a concern right now. They only bad thing is that he will need to commute to Indianapolis so thats an hour and a half each way. Still, he will be M-F with weekends off and this is what he went to school for. He is so smart and so worthy of everything great in life and I want him to have those things. He wants to get with a big firm to utilize his CPA someday so I can work a part-time job if I want to (IF?). I am so proud of him and wanted to YELL it at the top of my lungs or keys.  

That is wonderful news. Congratulations to your husband.

That is great!!!!  I have commuted an hour and a half to two hours one way for the last almost two years.  It calls for long days and not much time with your family.  But it makes the weekends that much better.  Sounds like God answered your prayers.

Congrats Johnna!  WooHoo!  Now maybe we can get you to move closer.....  

The company is called Defender Direct and I’m not sure exactly where they are but, Bill my DH has been looking for work for 5 months and this is the kind of job he was looking to start out with. They have a sales team that sells services like ADT, Homeland Security, Dish Network and DSL & Internet coming up.   I’ve already told him that we could go farther east and meet in the middle somewhere to live. My daughter is in high school over here and could use her fathers address to stay in school. I would need to drive over to TH for my job and I take her to school every morning anyway. So, who knows?   He really doesn’t mind the commute and eventually I could get something in Indianapolis and commute with him. Ok, look search the job ads everyone. I am an executive secretary/receptionist (S/R) and I have my associates in business admin with a specialty in finance. If ya see any openings, just let me know.
