Good Monday Morning

Hi everyone.  Love that sunshine today even if it is cold and Mabel, my woodchuck, liked it too.  Yep, she popped her pretty little head out again today and saw her shadow.  I know lots of people hate woodchucks but I have watched her in her habitat, as well as other animals, through my binoculars for 3 yrs now and God has given me a whole new prospective on her and how she lives and survives.  I have watched the birds for years too.

I have found out a huge secret since bariatric surgery.   When you are really stressed out, life is driving you crazy, kids, mil, dh, work, health, or you just need to get away from all the noise of life, the house, & the junk on TV....walk outside and look toward the sky or the tree's.  Shut off your mind and open up your ears and your eyes.  I have learned there is so much peace and serenity to be found doing this as well as the stress that it relieves.  Even if you hear or see nothing at all, you can still hear God.

Some of you may think I'm a flake, but the very first time I truly appreciated  a snowflake fall from the sky and touch my cheek was November 2000, 2 months after my WLS.  I was outside walking with my mini-doxy, Angel, and it was really cold.  It started to snow and I looked up and watched one snowflake after another fall on my cheek and tears came streaming down my face.

At that moment I felt like Rocky.  Here I was out walking in the cold and snow without my cane getting exercise.  I wasn't sitting in my recliner being a couch potato looking out the window "at" the snow.  It felt so wonderful to not be a prisoner of my house anymore.  I was making a choice to be outside in the cold and snow even though my knee's hurt really bad and I couldn't walk very far yet. It felt wonderful to be alive and well and starting my new life.

I can't wait to meet all of you and hear more about your journey's.

Have a blessed day,

Kathy

What a wonderful sentiment. I think you have wisdom from above and that you are so appreciative of God's love toward you and all His creation.

Thanks for sharing.
