It is natural for you to be nervous about your psych eval but if you just be yourself, you will be fine. Were there any of us that were not depressed when we had our psych eval, for pete sake? If we were really happy we wouldn't have been in the shape we were in.  You are not going to say anything that he hasn't heard before.  Say a prayer before you go in and God will be with you.

The best thing you can do for yourself before and after your surgery is go to support group meetings and be proactive at them not because the doctor requires you to be there but because you really and truly want to be there to learn everything you can learn about the bariatric journey.

It is never too early to start learning and the farther out from surgery you get, the more important those groups are because you will be applying what you have learned in the past groups to help you learn how to maintain your weight loss long term.   I am 8 1/2 years out and I still benefit so much from these meetings.  We are never too far out to learn and grow.

hugs,

Kathy

I felt the same way.  You will be fine.  Don't think about it too much, don't anticipate what he will ask you...just answer honestly and you will get through all of this.

When are you scheduled for surgery?
